Kevin Nisbet.

He has now emulated the six goals scored by our top scorer last season.

Runner Up Ryan Dow.

Nisbet for me also, but Dow, Murray, Paton and Martin weren't far behind. Thought everyone played well.

Has to be Nisbet. Was involved in everything attack minded but Dow wasn't far behind. His workrate is brilliant and never gave their defence any time on the ball.
Just what we need.

If you only turn up to moan then do it elsewhere

Whatever fee is agreed for Nisbet he's probably repaid it already with the goals he has scored and 'assisted'. It's not going to be megabucks for a League 1 player with only a year of his contract remaining.

Dow for me as well although I thought he could have been replaced 10 minutes earlier as he had fun himself empty. Nisbet also very good as was all the team.

He had a non-promotion clause in his contract I believe, the deal needs to go to a tribunal to agree the compensation fee.

Scully didn’t have much to do. Comrie was good, much better defensively than Williamson and neat and tidy going forward. Murray and Ashcroft won everything in the year, really pleased how much more solid we looked with that pairing. Martin done well at left back and even looks a threat going forward now. Jackson who?

Dow was outstanding, what a useful player he will be for us, mad to think he was playing in league 2 last season. Beadling and Paton got stuck in, Paton really adds that dig even if footballing wise he’s not the best. Couldn’t really fault anything he done last night however. Coley was energetic and looked a threat.

McCann was superb. He’s like a baby giraffe, all legs but some size of a loddy. He was fast, confident and will get better as we go. Nisbet was unreal, ran himself into the ground, great hold up play, good goal and could have had another. What a player he’s going to be for us, refreshing to see that option for us after last seasons display in front of goal.

Overall I’m absolutely delighted with how we looked. The penalty/penalties are dull ones to take, I couldn’t even bring myself to watch it back today, however the way we played was a breath of fresh air and I can’t wait to see how we get on this season. I think it’s fair to say we'll be entertained this season.
