 When the dust settles

Read buffys updates from afar in the company of a Dundee fan. Told him at 2-0 we would not win.....I know..

Fans were irate at the penalty decision as I would have been if I was there.
Having watched highlights I can see why ref gave first one. It seemed to me at least to hit Dow on the upper arm...unlucky, yes.

Second one shocking decision... full stop.

As well as we played first half...it was two Dundee mistakes that gave us our goals but great anticipation on both occasions by Nisbet and Dow.

If Nisbet audacious effort goes in ...three points were in the bag I am sure.

I still worry about our lack of experience on the bench and feel we need two more in... experienced players.

Sure it was a performance that Pars fans are looking for full of heart desire and no little skill. What a refreshing change after lasts seasons drossssss.

I hope we go down to Dumfries next Sat and get at least a point.

These are the kind of games that will shape our season.
Will be tuned in again from West Africa.

Already a big game next week, a win and we are in the mix for top of the table and relishing the next league V UTD who won’t look forward to coming to ours

Lose next week and we are considering how the foot of the table looks and not entirely wanting to face probably the favourites for the title

solution = Just go and win next week and the following league game looks after itself

Don't really see the relevance of league positions after 2 matches.

Totally agree BigJ - total nonsense. Of course you don't want to be falling behind after the first few games but it's that tough December / January period that more often defines your season.

GW 1 - we take a point against one of the title favourites.

Partick, QOTS drop points against teams they'd expect to beat.

Morton and Inverness get papped.

Not a bad start on paper.

Although I was delighted with the attitude and performance I hope next week we don't get let down with the result. As in the past we are up on a high then the next game it's a letdown. Then the usual posts this is the Pars what do you expect its happened in the past e.g. a team we play not won a match for weeks then we let them break their duck.We must be consistent in every game let's hope with the performance on Friday night and the young team Stevie has assembled this is a thing of the past COYP.

Surely I'm not reading that next week's game will have an impact on where we finish, what a load of complete nonsense.

Ofcourse it does...every game will have an impact. If we finish out the promotion playoffs by a point you could easily look at any of the games we drop points in.

Would be a great confidence boost if we pick up the W on Saturday.

It's a fair point on looking back and these would be results that mattered, on the flip side we could lose next week and still finish top 4. The original post reads as if we'd be near the bottom for the majority of the season if we lose next week which I don't agree with, especially given we are looking at least another one maybe two signings with some of the Celtic cash.

I can see us drawing our first three games and if we do, we probably shouldn't be too unhappy about only having three points. The leaders could be six points ahead of us by then, but we all know that the league is a long, hard slog and those three points could ultimately be the difference between success and failure.

After his performance on Friday night, I'm sure United will be worried about Nisbet.

Here's to the first of the day, fellas! To old D.H. Lawrence.
