They started well, 1st 20 mins or so they were the better team, but as I thought arsenal were to strong in the middle of the park

East End Park is a symbol of all that is DAFC.

Newcastle are brutal. The guy with the blonde dreads that came on in the second half looked like a pub team player. His positional awareness was laughable.

Yes. His main contribution was to be yellow carded for an outrageous dive.

Think the critiscim of Newcastle being brutal is a wee bit harsh. I'm certainly not trying to say there were great by any stretch of the imagination but Arsenal weren't exactly tearing them to pieces.

They dominated the ball and the only time they really exposed Newcastle was for the goal and a big part of that was a lapse in concentration to lose Aubameyang who then took his goal very well. Mikhitarayan should have done a bit better when he skied his chance but outside of that there weren't too many other chances created.

In the games against Arsenal last season they were beaten 2 1 at home and 2 0 away so although its obviously only one game there hasn't been an immediate capitulation in their results with Benitez leaving.

There's a definite lack of creativity going forward but Joelinton managed to find a few half chances in tight positions and they won't be expecting to start taking loads of points off top six sides straight away.

I think there's going to be quite a lot of games where their focus on defensive organisation leads to a few dull games especially against other sides that try to keep it tight but I wouldn't say they were stick-ons for relegation either.

Are you talking about Allan Saint- Maximin?
If so, he was easily their most effective player when he came on.
Made things happen and took risks.

If you only turn up to moan then do it elsewhere

That Almiron has been absolutely rotten. I predicted he would flop as the gap between MLS and English premier is enormous. MLS is probably below the SPL in my opinion. There are some quality players but most are well past their prime.

Almiron seemed to start well but hasn't fulfilled the early promise he showed. Bit early too write him off as a flop.
