It’s garbage as is the new handball rule. Ruining the the game can’t celebrate a goal for at least 5 mins. Fans singing songs about VAR, get it in the bin.

Yeah it hit the arm that he just shook free of the defenders hold!

It’s crap and it’s ruining the enjoyment of the game

As soon as sovereign wealth funds, Middle Eastern dictatorships and American corporate conglomerates started to invest in the 'sport' it was inevitable that technology would have to be deployed so that as accurate decisions as possible are made. The new handball rules have been brought in so as to remove any grey areas.

Ok guys try to understand this....VAR is not an intelligent being capable of making decisions.
It makes NO decisions and therefore NEVER gets ANY decisions wrong.
VAR provides evidence which intelligent beings interpret to the best of their ability.
Don't blame VAR.

VAR is utter nonsense in its current form. Either get rid of the referee altogether or let them do their job. Man City have a stonewall penalty denied because the ref didn’t go to VAR but have a goal disallowed because the ref did go to VAR. Basically the same as having a referee without VAR. Fire in defenders of VAR....

Who made the decisions?
How can you honestly say, "Because of VAR?"

Completely my fault I turned to my dad after about 90 seconds and said at least VAR didn't disallow it this time 😂

On a serious note I thought City had one very good shout for a penalty and one "maybe". What was the general consensus after the replays on TV?

What happens when one team gets a clear penalty and the referee decides not to check VAR. Can the captain decide to take his team of the pitch. Or does the referee get a message in his ear?

Gary Neville said the first one was a penalty. If the ref went to VAR it was a pen. The second while tremendously harsh but was the correct decision. It’s not VAR I have a problem with . It’s the inconsistency of it use . A hairline decision that 99-100 would never be spotted by a referee is given as a foul yet a blatant wrestling move is not .

Hanks Sergio, I've literally just found the replay and I'm far more annoyed about the penalty incident than the handball incident.

As frustrating as it is under the current laws of the game they've got that decision right. The penalty incident was a shocker though and the ref was looking right at it.

The new handball laws are an absolute joke. VAR applied the law, but the law is crap.

That's my view bandy. VAR is totally fine, and will only help, but refs need to get more confident using it as huge breaks in play are crap even if it's the correct call and this handball rule is terrible

I thought it was a good idea to try and stop accidental handballs from scoring but I think today's one is harsh. The question is where does it become fair to draw the line? If today's one should count how much of a handball is allowed in the lead up to a goal and how do you define it so refs can apply any new law consistently?
