 Team Vs Arbroath?
Topic Originator: king lad
Date:   Wed 28 Aug 10:55

For me personally in a sort of 4411 formation

Scully
Martin
Ashcroft
Devine
Comrie

McCann
Paton
Beadling
Dow

Turner

Nisbet

I think Morrison could do with a spell on the bench, I also want to see him maybe developed into more of a holding midfielder given our lack of depth in the area currently and our strength in depth at CB. Coley had a bit of a torrid time Vs United whereas McCann maybe deserves a start. Turner for me should be a starter as I think an extra pair of legs in the midfield helps Paton and Beadling out a great deal in their roles.

that's the plan for Morrison but given the injuries in preseason he ended up back at centre half again, decision on him for the weekend is does he make the bench, Devine will replace him im sure.

McCann or Coley unless another wide player comes in before the game, the rest picks itself.

King Lads team looks good to me - I’d definitely bring Devine back - the defence got crucified by many last season but in reality was by far the strongest part of our team.

I'd honestly drop Beadling for this but only real options are Todd or Turner. Turner Needs to start though, literally only reason we had any form of positive play was when he came on against United.

I think Beadling is being harshly done by, he wasn't good on Saturday but few were. I think we're asking him to do a lot expecting him to cover most of the midfield when Paton is sitting deeper. I believe it'll allow him to play his game if Turner is there providing a bit more energy. Imo we need to add another central midfield option in any case so hopefully we can see a transfer come in there soon

McCann isn't a winger. He'd be more effective through the middle.

Replace Devine with Lang and I think OP has it spot on.

If Lang was going to feature on Saturday I don't think he would have played the whole game last night.

Why drop Morrison.Standout at Celtic park and certainly not as bad as some on here are saying against United. Nae wonder we don't get players coming from the youths .Play them. How do they learn.

He was brutal on Saturday but to his credit he never hid. I think he struggles a bit as part of a back four but looks a lot more comfortable in a back five such as at Celtic.

I'd agree with the original post and have Devine back in on Saturday.

Not convinced by Turner, seems to continually pick the wrong option and is a walking booking.

Mon the Pars!!!!!!!!!!!

I’d worry about turner on sat, they will be out to get him and he’s a hot head.

Same team as sat with Morrison replaced by Devine/Lang and Andy Ryan replaced by turner. Paton will hopefully not play as a central defender this week so we’ll not get swamped in the middle of the park.

It’s going to be dirty tricks and physical, I hope the young lads are up for the fight.

I’d go for 433 or 451 (without the ball ) Old school mourinho .

Gk Scully

RB Comrie
CB Ashcroft
CB Martin
LB Edwards

DM Paton
CM Beadling
CM Turner

RW Dow
CF Nisbet
LW Coley/new wonderkid trialist

Best ever debut/trailist performance I Witnessed for The Pars was a winger named Kenny Ward. Pre season friendly . Bolton or West Ham I think. He was unplayable. Signed him up . He had an outstanding performance against Raith at starks park where we won 5-2. Unfortunately picked up a bad injury and that was him done. If memory serves that Raith team went on to win the League and Coca Cola cup!

Is their any foundation for any of this rambling nonsense? Where do I start. Turners a hot head apparently and you're worried yet you still play him.

Paton didn't play in central defence on Saturday.

And how many times have you seen arbroath play lately? Or is your entire theory re Arbroath based on their manager?

honestly don't get people jumping the gun and wanting players dropped for 1 bad game when they've previously been praising them in the games before and contenders for MOTM

give the boys a break, even top english prem players have off days

Stick with Morrison and Turner in for Ryan

Would like to see McCann get a chance as he's looked good every time he's been given a chance this season but only option is to play him out left really where he's out of position

Zidane sleeps with a picture of Paul Paton next to his bed #hero

The trialist returns back tomorrow to Burnley.
Unless management seen enough in the week to hold him longer if so I would give him a run out Saturday .

The trialist couldn't play on Saturday unless he was signed; they are not allowed to play in the Premiership or Championship. I think they can still field trialists for up to 3 games in Leagues One and Two though.

Just realised that if we don’t get a victory then it’s over 6th month since a league victory. That kind of statistic should seem daunting, however I think SC will use it to our advantage. I am confident I will be walking away for Gayfield on Saturday with a big smile

you can be worried about turner getting wound up and still think he's the best option surely? He's better than ryan anyway regardless of where you play him. commence sense tells you if the opposition have a player who can be riled they will single him out.

Paton was in a central defensive position more than he was in the center of midfield on Saturday, although he didn't have a good game, beadling was left in the middle with at least 2 players as we invited them onto us.

your right, arbroath will try to play us off the park as campbell is a student of the finer points of the game.

They are part time and up against full time team with a much bigger budget, how do you think they will level that playing field? Our weakness is a young team who are relatively small, campbells intelligent enough to know to get fired into us and the youngsters might struggle. Expect hard tackles on our wingers first chance they get to try and keep them quiet.

Gee whizz talk about rambling nonsense......naive is not the word.

I'd add Edwards to give us a left footed option and more width, Turner can drift inside from left midfield, Dow can do the same on the right and Comrie can push on. McCann deserves a chance for me through the middle.
