 Crawford's Pie n Bovril summary

Dunfermline's last league win was away to Alloa on the 9th of March.

They have not won a Championship match since.

That win at Alloa had the Pars sitting 4th in the table. They looked to be hitting red hot form at the right time to secure a play off spot.

They took just 1 point from the last 24 available though, finishing the season with a catastrophic run of 7 losses in 8 league games.

The wait for a Championship win goes on, with three defeats and two draws so far this season.

So in summary, the Pars have taken 3 points from their last 39 available in the Championship, and they are without a win in THIRTEEN consecutive league matches.

I'm sorry, but if we don't win today, I reckon Crawford's position in untenable. No question about it.

Last season it wasn’t his team and they were not even trying for AJ at the end.

This season it is his team and yet it’s the same predictable results and lack of goals. What’s the constant through all this? It’s the management.

I’ll give him another 3 games including today but get the feeling it will be the same as Aj where we are never far away from the next poor run of results and performances.

At least next time we won’t promote from within so the new man can bring different tactics and hopefully install a different mentality in this team.

My only concern is that we will also loose Greg Shields.

I am sure Crawford will be feeling the pressure, it does not help saying if he doesn't win today he will be sacked.
The board have made thier decision to go down the road of putting a young team together and Stevie and Greg are the management team they have chosen to lead the team.

Let them do thier job

Does that " let them do their job " go on as we plummet towards the seaside league .

I reckon that if they do punt Crawford or he walks that Shields may get the main gig

Disagree, everything GS does suggests he is more of manager than Crawford. He sounds better in interviews, he is a better man manager, tactically he seems more astute too. Got our staff in the wrong roles for me.

WSK I tend to agree with you but Shields may not want top job as I think he gets a lot of job satisfaction coaching the young players and trying to improve them in all aspects of the game.

Yes, we are a small club with little to no money, last season the board listened to the fans and sacked AJ, We are no better than we were last season but we cant change management whenever we have a bad run of results.

I may be a happy clapper but I don't want the board to put our club in financial trouble and feel like I did in the 2012/13 season , Just to get in to a league that we havn't got a snowball's chance in hell of winning

I never tbough that promotion this season was likely but we should be aiming for a playoff spot. Its a common theme with struggling clubs that training is going well but its not showing results on the park. To me that is more pschycological and tactics than ability. A positive mental attitude today, forget the last few games, they have gone. Let the opposition worry about us not the other way around. As they say, train like it means everything but means nothing, plsy like it means nothing but means everytbing.

Not entirely true. We have bigger crowds than everyone in the league bar the Dundee teams, plus the Lifeline money.

Most other clubs in this league would love to have our income. It's the expenditure that needs to be questioned.

Problem is did we really change the management? We promoted Crawford who was on aj coaching staff and his time under AJ is the only experience he has at this level.

We’re still punting the ball long and aimless with an immobile midfielder, more than likely to win the fair play award, too small and don’t score many goals. Loads of similarities despite the playing staff mostly changing.

Falkirk were in the Championship when he was assistant/coach there? and in terms of involvement with the first team under Johnston, limited would be one way of putting it unless it changed in the final month so yes there was a change.

"he is a better man manager, tactically he seems more astute too"

based on? going back to involvement Shields has way more of an influence on things than Crawford did under Johnston.

If Crawford does go, the Board CANNOT promote from within again. Didn't work with Potter, Crawford looks the same too. Fresh blood is needed in those situations to throw the status quo in the bin and change things up

Yes DBA, We do have larger crowds than most championship clubs and we have the lifeline but if you think for 1 minute that we are financially secure you are way off the mark.

More secure than they'd have you believe, pleading poverty and then paying paying fees for at least 4 players
