Our captain's missing.

Dropped?

Injured?

Miffed?

Weak looking bench - No Ryan or McGill if we need a goal. Must be an injury to Paton, who has done well in the last couple of games, possibly related to the block challenge at the end of last weeks game where he blocked a shot?

Not very much attacking threat on the bench, but there's a lot of attacking threat on the pitch which can be moved around if needed.

Confident today, hoping Cochrane looks good. Please, oh please, don't let Trouten score again.

what is negative?? our bench is weak and has been for years, thats the truth. strenght and depth is where our squad lacks hence we are where we are in the table and won't push for promotion any time soon

you would imagine that at least two from Paton, Ryan snd McGill must be injured , wouldnt make any sense not to have them in the squad.

Decent starting 11 but not much on the bench attacking wise. Hopefully we don’t need to worry about that! Feeling confident today!

Cochrane has been playing deep in midfield. He hasn't had a lot of the ball. Pretty even game so far.

Very frustrating so far. Far too many touches and no creativity. Hawley running the show for them in midfield. Saying that we should've been 1 up in the first minute.

Today just shows you’ll always struggle when you win nothing in the air.

Struggling to see much quality for us, turner looking a little out of his depth and we’re not picking any of the second balls up.

Plenty workrate but just not enough quality.

As Oz says Cochrane hasn’t had much of the ball and generally been playing deepish midfield on centre and right side.

We are playing as 11 individuals. When we have the ball there is no movement and when they have the ball we don’t press as a team. You could see the difference in the pre match drills the teams were doing.

I think we have better individual players, but absolutely clear why we are struggling so much.

Wasn't great to watch.

Lee Ashcroft is on the ball way too much for a player that never completes a pass. Would still have had his baby if that header had gone in though.

Alloa's goal was superb and unstoppable. Perhaps we could have closed down the space better.

Far too many passes going wayward and a often behind the man instead of into space slowing down play.

Think Nisbet (??) Should have buried that header from Coley.

All in all we did dominate and pushed forward, hit the crossbar and had a few shots.

The referee had some awful descisions. Why Kyle Turner's was booked is beyond me and Dow was definitely manhandled.

OK so we should be beating Alloa?? But it is an improvement on the last game we played them.

I don’t place all the fault at Crawfords feet today if I’m being honest. We started off well and could see the win at Partick perked the players up a bit, then the game just happened to peter out for a bit until last ten mins or so.

I thought Nisbet let himself down today and Crawford, he should’ve taken one of his chances, first one should have been easy, and the header off of the bar I thought was pretty criminal to be honest, he did the hard bit getting to it, should have done much better.

Dow was poor and shows how influential he is in the team and if he’s missing or off the boil how it impacts us. Kiltie also ineffective.

Turner for me despite his goal, thought he could’ve done better.

Lewis McCann started off really well and then went a bit flat unfortunately although still the man that helped pose a threat.

The goal from Alloa was decent, think Gills positioning if I was being incredibly harsh was a bit off but don’t think it was stoppable regardless, the issue was we just let the guy shoot.

Coley came on and actually did alright until he got to the box and then didn’t have a clue what to do bar one beauty of a ball in.

As for Crawford, could’ve made a sub earlier in my opinion, ironically I wanted Turner off for Beadling just before he scored! I don’t know Cochrane well, does he normally play deep in middle? I wanted to see him higher up.

Martin was excellent.

I think all in all, I’ve accepted where we are at, and I’m glad we picked up a point from a losing position.

Said I’d be expecting 7 points from the 3 games and we’re at 4 going into Morton so not grumbling too much.

Turner has that in him, a bit of a moaner and there was no need to moan after what looked like an obvious foul.

Terrible game today I thought, played at a pre-season tempo and with a pre-season atmosphere. We had a great start and McCann looked good up top with Nisbet but then bizarrely he swapped with Kiltie and we looked worse for it. Their goal was a great hit but came from losing possession cheaply in a poor area and nobody cliding the man down or giving away the foul. Our goal had a bit of luck about it as it looked like a handball and with the new rules it probably shouldn't have counted. We didn't really test their keeper enough again though for all the possession we had and if before the fame the bench looked weak, it was so proved with nothing really coming from Beadling or Coley (who looks well short of awareness and fitness for this level). McCann and Comrie were probably the best players for us, but it simply wasn't good enough against a side that shipped 4 at home to Ayr last week.

I quite enjoyed the game. Both sides tried to play it on the deck and I thought Alloa were quite decent. All of their players looked comfortable on the ball.

A bright start should have produced a goal in the first minute. Anywhere on target would probably have sufficed? There followed a good spell of about 20 minutes, where they moved it around well and could have scored again

Alloa then got more of a foothold and they did look dangerous when they came forward .

Second half, I thought Pars were the better team. Martin should have taken a yellow for the team and the goal would have been avoided.

Nisbet's header off the bar was almost in the sitter category for me. He certainly should have scored.

All in all, the performance was not too bad. The midfield blend is still not right. The game passed Cochrane by. I know he is short on match fitness, but did expect more.

What i did expect today was the Pars to be well and truly fired up !
a good win last week should have had the swagger back but no
We were lazy didn't chase down players etc etc
And we also knew we would have been point behind Morton and Dundee and a result today would have set us up nicely for next week !
Now it's back to the drawing board and theoretically we really should be winning games at home against most teams in this league , at times Alloa looked the full time team not us we allowed them too much space and time on the ball
well next week is another big game now
Not happy with 6 points from 21

The No 11 (Hawley?) was excellent I thought

da no 1 , I agree he controlled the midfield for them but then again maybe its the best game he has had for them because he got plenty time , nobody shutting him down and allowed him to string passes

We beat Partick 3-0 last week. So what?"

You said Alloa aren't pushovers so I pointed out that they were pushed over very easily just last week.

It was a pity Martin did not take a booking for the team as someone else said as I am sure the Alloa player would have done. Thought he played very well apart from that mistake and had one cracking blocking tackle in the first half when it looked like the Alloa player was about to score. I'm not to sure we have the battling qualities needed if we find ourselves down in the relegation zone come the end of the season being such a young team.

Although disappointed and the performance and result, it would be churlish not to recognise how well Alloa played, with their midfield totally dominating the Pars. They were better than two weeks ago when they won, as far as I am concerned, and the only surprise about their goal was that it wasn't scored by Trouten !!!

Our back line was reasonable, recognising that both Martin and Ashcroft are liable to make a total horlicks at any time. It was our midfield where we really struggled. It's hard to conclude anything other than that Turner (and Cochrane, albeit based just on today) are far too lightweight and don't really know what role they're supposed to be playing or where they're supposed to be.

McCann worked his socks off but was ready for replacement before he eventually was. Who knows how the game would have panned out if Nisbet had buried that first-minute chance, brilliantly set up by McCann. I like Nisbet, but it's fair to say a striker (Shankland ???) would have scored at least one of his chances today.

I also really like Ryan Dow, but the game passed him by for long periods. Greg Kiltie (who made a big impression on his debut against Alloa) was definitely out of sorts today.

All in all, a draw was a fair result, with both teams likely to snatch a winner in the last few minutes. I thought Buchanan had actually done that with his lob which just cleared the bar.

Long term, I sort of understand the fans' frustrations, but we have to recognise this is a work in progress. And Stevie Crawford is very much a work in progress as a manager. The squad to me is much better and more exciting than last year, and I totally buy into the 'developing young players' strategy.

Alloa are a decent side and the fact we haven't beaten them in 5 games at EEP in the last year tells its own story.

Roll on Morton next week.

We were dross. Never pressed as a team and never moved thd ball well enough.
Crawford can **** off with moving mccann out to the wing. Done it in each half and it never worked. Mccann is useless as a winger, especially defensivly. Its decisions like that will end up losing Crawford his job.
How the **** Cochrane lasted 90 minutes is beyond me, was like a man down.

Eta Gill should have done better with the goal, terrible goalkeeping

"our bench is weak and has been for years, thats the truth. strenght and depth is where our squad lacks hence we are where we are in the table and won't push for promotion any time soon"

Lang, Murray, Paton, McDonald, Thomson, McGill, Ryan all out injured or ill. not much you can do with that amount of players out unless you have a first team squad of 30+ players.

"The referee had some awful descisions. Why Kyle Turner's was booked is beyond me"

Turner one was answered below that comment but the one for me was Deas the centre half, booked in the second half for taking out Nisbet yet in the first half, same two players, same area of the pitch, same situation, same tackle....no card. shouldn't have been on the park to make that last ditch tackle from Coley's cross.

the game itself we were nowhere near our best and id struggle to give many of them pass marks, Nisbet's miss in the first minute kinda set the tone but we did deserve to get back in the game when we did and should have won it in particular Nisbet's header off the bar, has to score that imo.

I don't contribute much because as I've said on numerous occasions I know nothing about tactics and formations. If we win I'm happy if we lose I'm a bit peeved for a few hours then over it. I've had a few wee setbacks in the last few years so football isn't the be all and end all it used to be in my life. I'll always go, don't get me wrong, but it's just not grabbing me the way it used to.

However the snide remarks as you put it are so hard not to post. There's so much absolute knickers wetting horseshit on here its embarrassing. We played a game at the end of August and went 1-0 down early in the second half and one of our experts said we had 40 minutes to save our season. And he's usually quite sensible.

You bumping the Crawford out thread every time we don't win is actually laughable and makes you look like an utter bellend.

I really hope you lot aren't as idiotic and reactionary as this elsewhere in life or we're all fkd

Top post just above by da. no. 1, bringing a bit of perspective to a game of football. My take on the game was very similar to the view posted by Raymie. We didn't play anywhere nearly as badly as some fans are making out and had we taken even one of our early chances, we'd probably have gone on to win the game. I wouldn't be too hard on Nisbet and Co. If anyone needs an illustration of how easy it is for even the players at the top level of the game to miss a "sitter", take a look at the highlights of the Everton - Man City game.

I never tire of pointing out how crucial the first goal almost always is in any game and yesterday was yet more evidence of that. We did well to salvage a draw and with a bit more composure and better decision making, we would have nicked it.

I'm sure da no 1 can speak for himself, but to this objective onlooker, you seem far the more upset of the two.

You seem obsessed with Stevie Crawford and determined to continue a campaign to remove him from his job, stretching back to last season, whereas da no 1 has pointed out that there are far more important things in life to celebrate or get upset about, depending on the nature of them.

Da no 1, I hope the setbacks you alluded to further up, are well behind you now.

Why would I be upset?

As an edit, I would be absolutely delighted if Stevie won every single game he ever managed for us.

14 fouls by Alloa against our 12 ?

Would think gap was more than that.

As someone who started a thread titled "Crawford out " some 6 months ago, had it deleted and started a duplicate in April and then bumped it up to the top of the board after each and every poor Pars result, the only reasonable conclusion is that you're very upset that the team is not obtaining better results and that you feel the buck stops with the manager.

Now I can fully empathise with your angst, we'd all like to see the Pars win every game, but not even Guardiola or Klopp can guarantee that and they have some fantastic players in their squads. I can't understand why you keep bumping the thread up, perhaps you're trying to garner support for your one man campaign? You have a few fans in your camp, for sure, but without counting them all, I get the impression that the majority of them, including myself, are a bit hacked off with it.

As da no 1 pointed out, there are far more important things in life than football. We can all get upset when the Pars lose a game we might expect them to win, but that shouldn't dominate our lives for any significant length of time.

Yesterday my frustration was over by the time I got home, some 15 mins after the game. I had dinner in the company of my extended family and we were looking forward to my granddaughter's 6th birthday today, about which she was very excited.

I think Raymie is spot on, it was a decent game, both teams playing football. Alloa kept the ball well but rarely threatened, we had more clear chances - Nisbet needs to be sticking either the open goal or the free header in the net. A goal at either moment is clearly going to make the game a lot different.

Cochrane struggled but got better as it went on, Beadling didn't impress much when he came on so Crawford doesn't have much choice. Coley put in two great crosses which could have led to goals but otherwise was quite indecisive - although he looked a lot more lively than recently. I was happy to see McCann up front, I just wish he Crawford would keep him there, he is wasted on the wing.

All in all, a little frustrating, we should have won without playing great. I think we will beat Morton next week and we can take it from there. I have seen enough to suggest we can push for the playoffs.

Agree with Raymie and Bucuresti's assessments of the game. Both teams tried to play football and it was a pity Nisbet had an off day when it came to taking the good chances he had because if he had converted, we probably would have won.
