I've said plenty about Crawford's management but he has been decisive when changes have been needed, for instance the captaincy and now dropping Nisbet for Ryan.

Pretty sure he suggested that swap so that Turner can play central rather than wide, where he looks lost

Westie that would be true if turner was dropped today, nisbet was better than turner last week who was non existent.

Beading for turner but aside from that it looks a decent team although they will win nothing in the air!

That's my point, Turner will inevitably drift wide where he is lost however the manager sees them day in day out so we will see what happens.

A draw would be a good result, regardless of what happens elsewhere.

Results even themselves up over a season and a draw away at Tannadice is always a good result.

It was probably the first time United had possession in our half when they scored but I don't think we'd actually threatened the United goal, our only shot on goal came from a Ryan header from a free kick which he done extremely well to get too, let alone get on target.

I've got a reasonably good memory westi which is why I'm not convinced by Gill, every game I see him involved in his performance is usually littered with poor handing, but most of all absolutely dreadful footwork, he's constantly caught flat footed and as such is unable to actually dive for the ball.

The second goal is a pretty good example of that. I wouldn't agree that we've played the better football tbh.

Sadly there's not been much to say we'll have the next goal, after an OK first ten minutes it's been poor.
By the end of the half we've managed to make Ryan look isolated, while also managing to put no pressure on Uniteds midfield, and yet leaving free United players to receive the pass in areas where we should have 2/3. It's been poor.

In defence Edwards isn't playing great, his dead ball delivery's have been absolutely shocking, we've had absolutely no presence from any of our centre mids, Dow and Kiltie have looked reasonably threatening when they've got the ball and Ryan has managed to get a couple of shots away from the scraps he's been getting fed.

Gill, Cochrane, Turner and Paton have ranged from awful to anonymous.

On that balance of play, honestly, there is nothing between these sides. We've had 4 shots to their 2 and they scored from those while our finishing sadly has been ordinary. Despite what others are saying, we are not being outplayed. We still can get something from this game.

Crawford needs to earn his money with a good pep talk in the dressing room. This is by no means over...

Not sure if we can attribute both goals to Cammy Gill mistakes to be honest. We have been woeful and more abject misery to come with Devine coming on for the injured Martin it looks like.

This is genuinely one of the worst performances I’ve seen from this team. Proper boys v men stuff out there. United are not that good but they are far superior.

Andy Ryan btw is not the answer, he’s been anonymous though to be fair the out of position Turner, the crab Cochrane and the off form Edwards today could also compete for the position of next to be hooked.

Craig Fowler said on the Terrace last night re Crawford “false dawn”. Fear he may be more right than even he thinks....Smug git.

If I have been there has been threatening or abusive language I'd fully understand, the fact that whoever done it hasn't got the courage in his conviction to own up and explain his thought process speaks volumes.

People got massively carried away with his performance from last week. He had one good save, was caught flat footed (again) for the second goal and repeatedly palmed shots back into the danger area.

Not surprised to see Cochran’s getting stick again. Has none of the qualities we need unfortunately and another scared to lay a glove on the opposition. Playing him in a midfield with turner is a recipe for disaster, they just can’t compete physically with bigger, better faster teams.

How are these guys keeping beadling out? Even if he’s having a poor game at least beadling can compete.

Post shouldn't have been deleted, I don't agree with the post but there was nothing personal in it merely an opinion that the keepers we have aren't good enough, which as I say I think is a bit premature to be saying that about Cammy.

However you can't be deleting posts because you dont agree with them, particularly when you allow the same post to be shown in a quote by another poster.

Da no 1 is assume you think we’re having a positive season?

Here’s a positive, we haven’t lost any ground to the team at the bottom

Why not just tell everyone as we all know his deleted post didn't go against your precious rules?

My rules?
I'm afraid you're barking up the wrong tree sir.
I don't make the rules.. I'm only here to make sure they are adhered to.

Are you a Dunfermline fan? Honestly? I've never read one post from you that isn't negative.

2nd half much better. Still think we should play 4-4-2 from the start.
We definitely need the midfield to be more physical. In all though I thought a draw would have been the right result.

Absolutely agree with other posters
No use dominating a game if you cannot score ! Wasn't at the game today but again reading from posts folk think the same as me Cammy isn't the answer for us in goals makes too many mistakes and we seem to get punished for them and neither is Scully good enough , I can remember when the goalkeeper was one our best positions
It's bad when you look at the results and say thanks Arbroath you did us a big favour today !

I thought we were poor, no cutting edge going forward. Midfield don’t pick up any lose balls. Full backs were poor today.
Gill has to do better with both goals. The free kick was dire

We have two keepers neither who instils confidence, one who wasn’t wanted by a couple or our rivals and the other has been here for years and has never made the breakthrough until He was the only option.definately a position we need to address in January

EEP we can’t play 442 as haven’t got the right midfielders. Thompson will walk back in the team when fit. I would like to see beadling and Thompson as a middle 2 to see if they can work in a 442. Feels like both have spent a lot of time in our midfield playing alongside slower immobile players.

We don’t pick up many or any second balls as we don’t compete, we stand off the opposition and we are constantly muscled out of it in 50-50’s by bigger players. If the opposition has mostly free headers in defence and the middle of the park they are going to direct more to their own players.

Tuesday feels like a big game, if we want to avoid a relegation fight thats the type of games you have to win.

Another nightmare from Gill - I posted several weeks ago that we had the poorest 2 keepers in the league and have seen nothing to alter my opinion.

Disappointed to see Martin injured again but Devine did well when he came on.

Despite the result, for once I was pleased with the fight from the team after going behind - a big 3 games coming up for us now. I’d be tempted to bring Beadling back for these games.

Not hard to find a semi reasonable keeper, must be someone around better than our two who are probably the worst in the league

Yes we are poor at picking up second ball and although we played quite well second half the final ball pass was very poor although Andy Ryan was a bit unlucky with a shot that hit the bar considering the pass was slightly behind him. One positive from the match was for me anyway, the form of Ashcroft, who would be my man of the match. I could not understand why that cross just before the goal went through Gills hands as it did not seen to have to much space on it but they had a Scottish international striker to cash in on the resulting cross. I could see how untd. lost 4goals last week, was not overly impressed with their defence. Next game on Tues. big game.

UTD have a wage bill of 4 million quid.....fully expect us to lose today.

Yet they were pumped 4 nil by Queens who have a budget the square root of zero!

I think other teams invested properly in management, we've tried to wing it.
The odd result but no momentum, season already a turkey, interest lost, numbers at gate lost.
We seem to be playing a bit better but the league table tells no lies.

I Hope You're Ok Today....

The league table tells us how close it is Rasta. The next 7 days could put us right in the mix for the playoffs or cement your concerns. All the other teams/managers appear to have the same inconsistancy as us.

There are people on this forum who fail to grasp the concept that all the teams in the championship are pretty much of the same level and fine margins and a bit of luck will get you the wins we crave. United budget SHOULD make a difference but can't guarantee success.

It also, despite a slight upturn in performance tells us that we are close to the bottom spot, like it or not there are lesser teams above us.
It speaks volumes that those who want better than that get such grief for saying so, what we've come to accept.
Sorry but at the end of the season the league table won't give a monkey's if it's close, the worst will be jettisoned.
We went cheap and it shows.
Now before there's a gnashing of teeth I didn't expect anything from yesterday...but again that says it all, games written off before they start.
We're bleeding fans we can't afford to bleed and that should be worrying, not meekly accepted.
The next two games are massive, lose them both and keep with the same disaster we start to look weak and stupid.

I Hope You're Ok Today....

^^^^ We had most of the possession in the first 15minutes and most of the second half but were completely impotent in front of the goal.

Second half we beefed up our midfield and dominated more of the game but gave the ball away on at least 80% of the time with miscued passing.

Dundee Utd definitely deserves the win as they were more decisive in front of goal.

It's not all doom n gloom though. Utd are top of the league and had something to proove considering their last two performances. We did compete!

Our fans were the true heroes. Sang their hearts out all game.
