Seriously....everyone knows Mario is a Tory. He used to be quite vocal about it. Apart from that he is quite likeable 😉

I buy the Daily Mirror but I'm certainly no Tory. But the crosswords are excellent. The Tory propaganda in these papers is hardly subtle and all but the highly naive would fail to be swayed by it.

Mario a Tory ? He campaigned for Labour not so long ago. Aye yer right ....a Tory.

Nasty people. Full of hatred and fervently Nationalist.

Just tried to link to an interview with an ex manager that I thought might be of interest. I’m not very techy with links and stuff I must admit, though I do subscribe to a range of newspapers, (including the Herald so politics has nowt to do with it)
But seeing it didn’t work some of you might like to know JC is doing quite well, coping with Alzheimer’s and getting on with his life. The article also focussed on his time as a player and manager both home and in Holland.
Very interesting read.

I wonder how we would have done if he didn't leave to go to Aberdeen.

Pretty pathetic turning a thread about an ex managers health into a political one.

It was hard to know what it was about when it required a subscription to read the article. Could have been anything, I still don't know.

Although we enjoyed the football at the time this was the start of our descent into administration. Also if anyone has an investigative mind look into the relationship with Gavin Masterton, David Murray , all seater stadia rules for the spl ..just for interest like ... I know most of you only care about the football on the pitch and all this stuff doesn't mean anything but it is really important and runs to the heart of governance for our game

I didn't really enjoy the football a great deal at the time. The odd game here and there but not a patch on the Paton era.

Awight Pat!

It was rubbish rocking up to EEP every fortnight and seeing the team win.

His brand of football was far too refined for some Pars fans who preferred blood and thunder 100 mph style football.

Our home form was the best pure football I've ever seen us play. We often couldn't get going away from home though but that's maybe just the games I saw.

Enjoyed Bert Paton era more though. Probably a few things underlying that though.

Obviously it's all personal but if you stopped going during the JC era for footballing reasons then that's a strange decision I think.

Enjoyed the Calderwood era and granted we were in a different division but in terms of seeing the team winning McIntyre, AJ, Paton, Jeffries and Leishman all won more games as a percentage played.

On a personal note met him a few times a couple of years ago in Bannatynes and he was always very friendly-wish him well in dealing with his illness.

More diplomatic than I could have put it Rusty.

Anyone that thinks the football JC's team played was dire should have a wee tour of Pars videos on YouTube.

Some of the goals in that era were phenomenal. Of course, we had no business having the players we did, but that's a different discussion.

Glory days when Jimmy C was in charge. Ian Ferguson was the best player I've ever seen for the pars.

I did go from being a season ticket holder to picking and choosing my games, during the Calderwood era. This wasn't solely due to the football on offer, which was usually quite good but not a patch on the Paton teams. I did live abroad for a wee while and my Dad died, and got a bird during this time all of which changed my priorities. One of the things that did put me off though was the wages that we were rumoured to be paying, which said nothing to me about my life. I just couldn't relate to the players in the same way, as our communities representatives when they were on 5 grand a week
