 CL Tonight - Part 2
Topic Originator: GG Riva

Last time I started a similar threads, I said it was a welcome distraction when the Pars aren't doing too well. What a difference a few weeks makes. 🙂

I'm double dosing tonight. Barca are on at 5.55 and BVB v Inter at 8 pm. Two home bankers, me thinks.

Salvia are no mugs, they played really well in an entertaining game for a 0-0. Barca are a pale shadow of years gone by though.

I'm currently standing on the balcony and the noisiest thing on my Barca-mad street is the sound of deafening silence... this is most unusual at this time of night (any night) and is actually a bit creepy... they're clearly not happy... hats off to to Praha who were excellent I thought... good game..

Chelsea v Ajax is incredible.

Ajax 4-1 up. Chelsea get one back. Then both CB's sent off for Ajax and a penalty to Chelsea to make it 4-3.

Disgraceful stuff from the ref for that handball decision.

I thought I'd jinxed BVB when they went 2-0 down, but they were different class in the 2nd half. I hear the East Anglian tractor boy has trashed his keyboard.....

Good though the game I watched was, it seems to have been trumped by Chelsea-Ajax. I'll catch the highlights tomorrow. That's enough fitbaw for one night.

BPP, did you know that if someone has BT Sport or SKY Sport, they can also watch games on PCs, laptops, tablets etc. by entering their login details.

Just have a wee think about that..... :-)

Looks like Barca are still reeling from the Liverpool semifinal. I think that knocked the stuffing right out. I would put that down as the best comeback I have ever witnessed and maybe will haunt Barca for some years to come.

For the most part with Barca, they just have one of the most tactically naive managers around right now. Valverde should have been punted a long time ago

They're not exactly rubbish, top of la Liga and top (unbeaten) of their CL group. They dominated Slavia last night and should have won comfortably, but a combination of bad luck (hitting the woodwork) and fine defending by the Czechs kept the scoreline blank.

They've never adequately replaced Xavi and Iniesta and probably never will.

This Arsenal game would get football stopped. I swear the Pars would give Victoria a better game.

If you only turn up to moan then do it elsewhere

Michael Oliver took not watching the game to a different level, he must be waiting until he gets back to the hotel. Chelsea get TWO penalties, the opposition get TWO red cards. Arsenal are not the team of 5 (or more) years ago, unable to breakdown a team who were happy to play on the break.

I'll take your word for that GG, I was concentrating on the Liverpool and Chelsea games. But domestic dominance in Spain is the norm for the two usual suspects just as in dear old Caledonia.

La liga is nowhere near as close to being a 2 horse race that the SPFL is.

The SPFL is 4 leagues, so can't be a 2 horse race.

12 games in and there is only 5 points between 1st and 13th place this season in Spain.Celtic and Rangers are 6 points clear with a game in hand.

Yes parathletic but (at the risk of someone looking up the statistics) maybe not a typical season in Spain. It is in fact 6 years since anyone apart from the big two have won the league. Think that almost qualities for a two horse race.

Atletico have finished ahead of Real for the last 2 seasons. It's 35 years and counting since neither Rangers or Celtic won the league.
