Well that's disappointing. From going to not being able to.
Are Ayr reliant on 3 under 21's?
The flame still burns

Ayr have 4 Scotland under age players on loan so that could be the issue.

This means that, after tomorrow's game, we won't have another league game for three weeks, just when we seem to be gaining some momentum.

Got a competitive Scottish Cup Tie coming up ??
I found it strange we were to play Ayr United so soon after the home match.

<<This means that, after tomorrow's game, we won't have another league game for three weeks, just when we seem to be gaining some momentum. >>
This illustrates the dismal management of the SPFL. When Scotland still has fair to moderate weather, professional teams go three weeks without a match (and importantly, gate revenue). It's madness.

there us a run of games coming up where we play the same opponents twice within four/ five weeks - pretty poor scheduling - I dont see why the same pattern of games cant be repeated each quarter.

We aren't going three weeks without a match. It's a single blank Saturday which so happens to be the week before a Scottish Cup game on the 23rd. I don't really see any justificatioin for complaint on this. The rescheduling is a bit annoying as I'd definitely ahve gone on the Saturday but probably won't make the rearranged date, but it's just one of these things and can't be helped. The only ones I get annoyed at are when Challenge Cup games are given precedence over league fixtures on weekends, which just doesn't seem right.
The same fixture set isn't repeated every quarter because there are certain things that have to be taken into account such as nearby games in other divisions (with a different fixture pattern) and midweek fixtures. There are two midweek dates this season, and all clubs in the league are at home for one and away for the other - that isn't coincidence. Clubs can also request a home or an away fixture on a certain day of the season - they are only allowed one such request, but again these impact on the fixture list and make it much more complicated than most people realise and it's never going to be a case of setting 9 sets of fixtures and repeating them 4 times in the same order..

The only departures from a strict reversal of the fixtures used to be to accommodate local derbies over the Festive period but they've more or less done away with them. What really annoys me is the scheduling is never explained to the punters.

Just out of interest did we make a request?
