 Michael O'Neill

He is the new manager of Stoke City. He obviously saw managing the team at the foot of the English Championship as a better prospect than managing Scotland.

I suspect the far bigger wage was the driving factor in that consideration.

Its thoroughly depressing but managing Stoke is probably a bigger job than managing Scotland these days.

The SFA morons offering O’Neill less money than his home nation didn’t work for some reason? Good luck to him at Stoke. He has done a fantastic job and fingers crossed he can get Stoke back challenging for the championship playoffs at least.

No, I don’t mind them TOWK but I really like Michael O’Neill as a manager. I was gutted he didn’t take the Scotland job (even though I am delighted now Steve Clarke) and going by his interviews he seems like a decent guy. With defence being his strong point, I think he could improve Liam Lindsay also, which benefits Scotland massively.

£750K at NI
£1.5M at Stoke

Not sure why he made the jump?
