He is the new manager of Stoke City. He obviously saw managing the team at the foot of the English Championship as a better prospect than managing Scotland.

The SFA morons offering O’Neill less money than his home nation didn’t work for some reason? Good luck to him at Stoke. He has done a fantastic job and fingers crossed he can get Stoke back challenging for the championship playoffs at least.

No, I don’t mind them TOWK but I really like Michael O’Neill as a manager. I was gutted he didn’t take the Scotland job (even though I am delighted now Steve Clarke) and going by his interviews he seems like a decent guy. With defence being his strong point, I think he could improve Liam Lindsay also, which benefits Scotland massively.
