Finished 3-1 with us grabbing a late consolation.

Of course results aren't everything for the reserves but even so given that we have put out some experienced sides I would expect us to be doing better-7 defeats in 8 games now-can't be good for the confidence.

Again, king lad, I would want to protest about the use of Jesus's name as a form of cursing. His name is precious to all Christians and I would contend that there are many among the supporters of Dunfermline Athletic. I continue to be dismayed that those who regulate this forum continue to allow the use of Jesus's name as a swear word while censoring other swear words. It is a great shame that our club sits so lightly to such a blatant misuse of His name and I request again that we don't tolerate this.

Exclaiming the name of an imaginary persons name isn't swearing min .

If that is the opinion of admin, I am not at all impressed with admin which to me is very sad because I have great affection for the Pars and to see those who have some official role within the club taking such a line reflects very poorly on the club. I will continue to stand up for the name of Jesus, as all serious Christians would. You may wish to believe that He is an imaginary person but no persons life has been so carefully documented and I would advise caution as to using his name in a casual offhand manner because there will come a time when we will all see Him and be required to give an account of our lives and attitudes towards Him.

Also King Lad's post is a quote - even though it's not in quotation marks it's a quote from the video.

Jesus.

Football forum so give respect to those Dunfermline Athletic supporters who are Christian believers. I would guess that none would be so casual as to use the name of other leaders of world religions in such away because that might lead to heavy repercussions for Dunfermline Athletic so please give the same respect to the name of Jesus.

My five year old has been learning about the nativity at school. Last night when I went in the lounge and said "right, up to bed" he laid down on the sofa and said "carry me up like the baby Jeezo".

I'll break the news to him tonight that's he's now facing eternal damnation! 😀

Of course it was. I didn't see anyone else being mortally offended and, not only did you start the ball rolling, you've continued to keep it trundling merrily toward the inevitable precipice until you skited on your erse and fell over the edge. People like you are consistently doing more damage to yourselves than any allegedly blasphemous comment posted in jest on this forum.

Well maybe more Christian's should make their feelings known when the name of God's Son is being abused. And thanks for referring to me as "people like you". But I am glad to be known as people like me if in some small way I am privileged to stand up for the great name of Jesus.

The phrase "people like you", Paralex, refers not to Christians nor to followers of any other religion, but to people who continually attempt to ram their opinions down other peoples throats while caring not a jot about the negative reaction that it almost universally inspires... if you've never encountered this reaction before then you clearly live in a very safe and insular world, and I honestly pity you for that...

As ministers in dresses
Gather round some nice black people
While I deliver this message
Kill the message

Oh Pope he got the Nazis
To clean up their messes
In exchange for gold and paintings
He gave them new addresses
Clean up your messes

Oh come all ye faithful
Oh joyful and triumphant
Gather around
While I blow my own trumpet

And are you willing to respect the opinions of others who feel that any particular use of a name that isn't exclusive to your beliefs, as there are other people in the world who are called Jesus and I would reckon a few of them wont be Christians, is their right and as such is welcome on a forum that welcomes all kinds of the worlds population whatever beliefs they have or don't?

Whether official or not we are still representing the club and I would hope we would aspire to reasonable levels of decency and respect. There is a big push in football right now to eradicate racism from football and that is great but it takes a whole lot of time and effort to change the mindset and practice of many. We have a long way to go to clean up football from the bitterness and bile that is often expressed in our own stadium but we can take another small step forward in this forum by cleaning up our own act and not allow the name of Jesus Christ to be used as a swearword. I do understand that king lads use of the term was a quotation from elsewhere referring to a dog and perhaps not intended to be offensive but I would suggest demeaning nonetheless.

I tend to lose interest when threads on the Football Forum veer off on to non-football topics but it's difficult to ignore this one. I have always considered DAFC to be a club tolerant of all religious beliefs but, reading this thread, I wonder if all fans embrace this. I'm surprised Admin let things get this far.
