Stranraer are all over us so far. They have had several chances - a clear header saved, they hit the post, a goal-line clearance. Our central defence is a car crash waiting to happen...

Anyway grim reading just now hopefully we can get a goal or two in the second half !!

If there are issues with Cochrane and Mcdonald then send them back in the window

I believe there was an option to recall at Christmas , if that option is true then it must therefore work both ways, neither is exactly a first team regular and so we would have the opportunity to bring in another couple of loaners

A shocking performance by the Pars in the first half. Our only candidate for MOM so far would be Ryan Scully, without whose heroics we would have been 2-0 down within 15 minutes.

Our defence was horrible for large chunks of the half. You would struggle to find a more than a handful of clearances by them that found a Pars player; Comrie was particularly guilty in this respect.

There is very little going on further forward. Turner and Paton are working reasonably hard, but the rest? Dow is invisible and I struggle to see what McCann brings to the team when he plays out left. Ryan and Nisbet just aren't clicking today.

We must expect more from the Pars in the second half. I really hope Thompson gets a run. He could make a difference.

COYP!

We are only in this competition this early because of our poor finish last season.

Last yseason we failed miserably in kirkcaldy and the season before much was made of the 50 years since the team last lifted the trophy and they failed to turn up in a home tie against Morton.

No Point strengthening the team if it's Crawford that's bringing them in
he is ultimately to blame , and if players cannot get motivated for any game it's time to get rid of them ,

It wasn’t a surprise defeat though, Stranraer battered us and we were awful, they deserved it.

That’s a sackable offence in my opinion, such a big defeat considering the revenue you can make out of this competition.

This team are bottom of the seaside league for God sake.

That was right up there with our worst performances of last season. I have nothing positive to say.

A horrendous result that the board should be - and in all likelihood will be - furious about.

Dreadful to be out of the Scottish Cup so early. That will cost the club a lot of money.

Cue Stranraer drawing Celtic away. That's a disgraceful result. I've tried to be positive but Crawford clearly isn't the answer. Another terrible appointment yet again by the board. We haven't really progressed much since admin. No point sacking Crawford as we will just be left with another McArthur appointment and he can't pick a manager

Can't say much in defence of the result if we showed no fight but I wasn't there so can't comment. But it seems that the lower placed teams really go for it in the cup. For instance East Fife beaten at home to BSC Glasgow, Arbroath only drawing with Auchinleck and Partick Thistle only beating Penicuik 1-0 at home. The team we played was only one league below us and it was away from home, the teams the others were playing were not even in the main leagues.

We won'tt even figure in the 4th round by right due to the feeble squad last year hence why we even had to play in the 3rd round of the cup this year
the poor performance isn't getting any better
I'm sorry but the responsibility lies with the board for picking Crawford in the 1st place
he has a budget which should make us a play off team at the very least ,the way we are going this will be achieved but instead of playing st Johnston or st Mirren we will be playing east fife or god forbid Falkirk

I have held a season ticket for 35years and accepted plenty of poor football during the administration I contributed hundreds of pound to try and keep the club afloat joined the lifeline and buy £5 worth of 50/50 tickets every home game
THIS STOPS NOW
sadly if the board continue to back this "local hero" they wont have my hard earned to keep it going

AJ was moved on with a better record than this so called manager

good luck to DAFC I will continue to support my club but no longer financially why should I they are not the community club they claim to be and are keeping in a man the bulk of fans have no confidence in a cheap short term option which must be costing the club a fortune in lost attendances and other associated revenue

I mind losing to Brechin away in the "first" round of the cup in the early '80's and thought that was as bad as it gets - until today.

As RSP says - it'll be a right scunner if Stranraer get Celtic or Rangers away in the next round - and good luck to them.

I hate to say it but Crawford is so far out his depth. Losing to Stranraer is a joke. We have played well in two (maybe three) games this season but today proves giving him the job was a massive mistake. I would love to be wrong but unfortunately, I can’t see this getting any better.

Losing cup games against "lesser" opposition is usually caused by the players from the higher ranked teams having the wrong attitude.
It sounds like we thought we would just have to turn up?

I don’t think this result is such a condemnation of DAFC as Scottish football in general. The ‘difference’ between the leagues is questionable; tempted to say that teams between the bottom half of SPFL and League 1 can frequently only be separated by the refereeing decisions - but truth is though, and loathed to utter it, the old-firm are the only 2 clubs that are likely to be confident of disposing of ‘lower league’ teams competently on any given match-day (home or away).

Just looking at the squads of ‘us’, Falkirk, QOS, Morton, Dundee Utd (to name a few) over the last 5 or 6 years; it’s something akin to a merry-go-round.

It may be harsh, but there seems to be a bunch of mediocre ‘professionals’ peddling there wares in Scottish football. And that’s what we have, rank mediocrity.

Rant over :(

Whatever happened to the romance of cup football, when every now and again the underdog would overcome all the odds and bask in the glory of a ‘shock result’? :)

It should be played beautifully.”

As usual it comes down to players attitude.
Of course we can get beat from Stranraer, Alloa or whoever.
But the manner of those defeats is the unacceptable point.
And I think the manager is to blame for players having a poor attitude. Its happened in so many games this season the axe cannot be far from the drop.

We lost 1-0 away to Brechin but can't remember if it was 79 or early 80s....was at the game but can't remember the team 🤨

Ritchie was the Brechin keeper that day coz I remember him playing well and getting abuse from some fans.

I was at that East Stirling game and it hurt. The only defence of this result if there is one is that the lower you go down the leagues the more aggressive the fitba becomes with constant in your face aggression, running tackling etc etc. If you are not used to this difference then you can go under, as we did.

Pathetic. Hit bar from free kick but no shot on target from open play. Stranraer were the better side and deserved their win. Long ball ‘football’ from Pars yet again, playing into the opposition’s hands. If the same level of ‘performance’ is repeated v Partick, Crawford’s time is up. Football being served up is atrocious. Took my wife away for long weekend. Still enjoying my time in Stranraer but the Pars didn’t show up and that is the most concerning thing.

Time up for clueless Crawford. Board have to take responsibility. This has backfired big style. We're in a mess and a relegation fight.

Stranraer knocked us out the Cup in a replay at EEP when Jefferies was manager; in fact I think it was his last game!

For those who say this is the worst squad in 50 years, have you forgotten the Forsyth and Stanton years and, more recently, the teams Potter put out?

Folk have short memories.

"Never lost to Brechin away in the cup in the early 80's."

That was a guesstimate from memory - apologies for being a few seasons adrift.

Whenever it was - still the worst Scottish Cup result that I can recall until this afternoon.

Brechin were bottom club of all 3 leagues.

What gets me is not a bad result like this if it was isolated but after a bad result at Alloa two weeks ago the squad and the coaching staff have had a fortnight to brood.

I would have expected them to come out fighting today and to have won this game comfortably.

The fact that we did not tells me the management team have/ are failing to motivate/coach the players and the tactics are wrong.

The players have to take responsibility also.

Something is amiss and the buck stops with the manager.

Lose against Partick and I will not be unhappy to see the Craw fly away.

Long time since I've been to an away game but that was hellish from start to finish today. Stranraer looked really up for the game from the start, were first to every ball, and thoroughly deserved their win. Apart from Nisbet hitting the top of the bar we created nothing and their keeper didn't have a safe to make. No pass marks for any of our players and the fans understandably showed their displeasure at the end.

At the end of the day it’s not good enough and the players should be ashamed of themselves but i suppose it’s how crawford has come across after the game.

Think if we had a good manager you would see the team putting in good performances and winning games and being consistent. Don’t expect the players to do any better until Crawford goes.

We really have the nucleus of a good team - Nisbet, Dow, Thompson, Martin, Kiltie to name a few. I think Calum Smith with come on at Airdrie as well.

The Sad thing is that’s not even close to our worst performance this season, Alloa in the Challenge was painfully worse. We are better than this! It’s going to be a long season 🙈

Wasn't it the previous round, then lost 1-0 to St.Johnstone ?

That was one of the worst performances I've seen in all my time watching Dunfermline. Walked out after the penalty as knew there was no way we were going to score. Think we had two shots. Hit bar from.free kick and one over bar
Really fed up with long journey.to watch utter cross.

I wasn’t at the game so cant comment on the performance but it sounds a wretched afternoon. Listening to Crawford’s post match interview ( something I rarely do) he mentioned that Dow’s injury was a recurrence of that which kept him out earlier this season, I hope both he and Scully make quick recoveries.

It is hugely frustrating to be knocked out of the cup at such an early stage particularly as we had two weeks preparation for this. It sounds like that two week window was absolutely squandered which verges on unforgivable.

Finally respect to all who made that long journey to watch that.
