Ok we were away from home but is this the lowest attendance we have ever played in front of in a competitive fixture?

I have a dim and distant memory of standing in a crowd of about 300 at Dumbarton's old ground way back in the really grim days of the 70s.

I remember Boghead- must have been about the 300 mark, Albion Rovers too?

I also remember Firs Park ( E.Stirling) probably 43 years ago- they seemed to only have a handful of fans- back in the grim old days....we made our own entertainment etc. Etc.

Really poor crowd

I saw Penicuik took more than 1000 fans to Partick(crowd 3165)
Elgin v Alloa was 668
East Fife v BSC Glasgow was 484
Auchinleck v Arbroath was 921
Albion Rovers v Airdrie was 1127

On the plus side we managed to get more than Edinburgh City v Annan where the crowd was 176-my 8 year old nephew's games attract bigger crowds than that!

"Albion Rovers v Airdrie was 1127"

that is a local derby and not a 2.5hour drive away.

I'm aware of that but it was just to put some perspective on it. Elgin to Alloa is a 3.5 hour drive!

The low crowd at Stranraer is a reflection of the growing lack of enthusiasm by a substantial number of Pars fans (myself included) to attend away fixtures until there is a substantial turnaround at the club. In addition to the lost revenue by going out of the cup 2 years running to lower league opposition, home attendances are also clearly dropping off. I for one (as a season ticket holder) am struggling to motivate myself to attend even home games as the team consistently under performs and there is a clear lack of leadership both on and off the pitch.
Change is urgently required as we are now consistently losing to part time teams with far smaller budgets than ours which is just not acceptable.

It's a fair point about attendances. Very little enthusiasm surrounding the club just now

I feel that the total cost of going to games is having a detrimental effect on gate sizes. Not that long ago I attended games home and away now I only go to away game very occasionally. We have seen our gates drop this season and I would imagine many other teams also have smaller crowds.

SPFL crowds have apparently grown for the last 4 seasons in a row.Of the 42 clubs 25 saw a year on year growth at the end of last season. We must've been one of the 17 whose attendances decreased.

eta
our home attendances

2017/18 5243
2018/19 5008 down 4.5%
2019/20 so far 4237 and falling

That's got to be a worry. We're not even halfway through the season yet but so far we are more than 1000 fans down every game from 2017/18

I'm not going to criticise the attendance at Stranraer because I wasn't there. I didn't fancy a 9-hour round trip on a dreich November day but I would have gone if it had been nearer to home. I don't know what Stranraer's average home gate is but their most recent gates were 387 v Airdrie and 418 v Clyde.

I remember a small crowd when we played Clydebank away in 1999. They were groundsharing with Morton at the time after leaving Kilbowie. 475 in attendance.

Part of that would be down to Scotland playing at Hampden the same day. I think the last qualifier for the 2000 Euros.

That might have been Bullen's first game.

If I'm correct my son was in a wheelchair at that time, therefore I and friend sat above him in the stand. Unfortunately I was in the area of Clydebank fans. Seeing my scarf they asked why we were there, I explained about my son and there was no agro.
