I would rather have Martin in the centre and Edwards rather than Devine. The rest of the squad looks decent. Fingers crossed we can get a much needed win today.

Managers choice, Pars win and all the doubters are put to bed. Draw or loss to the league's weakest form side then fair comment on selection of players.

I think that's as good a lineup as we can put out with form and injuries.

Edwards just hasn't been very good, at all. Martin was outstanding at left back earlier in the season and it gives Kiltie in front of him more license to roam, makes us more solid defending set pieces aswell.

Beadling came in and improved us last weekend, deserves a start.

Who was tripped for the penalty? Sky Sports/PA say Kiltie, I thought Dow, my old man thought Nisbet! We were just getting ourselves sorted so weren't really paying attention!

Keeper should be saving Martin's goal I think. Great work by the full back though. Both their full back areas look like areas we can exploit.

I am in Benidorm and totally behind the team. Great feeling to be winning again especially in a town strewn with happy clappi g ugly sister fans, especially the not so young Ladies in orange hats and mutton heads wearing Rangers tops. COYP let's win and climb a mediocre league.

In the first fifteen minutes Kiltie won us a penalty after closing down O'Ware high up the pitch on the opposite side from him and Martin gets a fantastic goal from left back.

Obviously Nisbet is getting inspiration from the legendary Sligo Mick Leonard who did carry a bit of lumber as I recall and may have scored one of the fattest hat-tricks

Fastest might have been Alan Evans v Stranraer

Great FH & score reflects the total domination the Pars have had. The pitch is heavily sanded & very slippy Dow + Kiltie are having a field day & beating men with ease. It’s a day for wee quick guys & McCall has taken the only wee quick guy they had off in a tactical switch. Can’t fault the team doing everything right!

Keep up the good work in the SH.

I'd imagine DA they'll have a big overhaul in the summer, they've got the bare bones of a decent championship side but they badly need a decent defence. With Colin Weirs millions its not all over for them yet.

Won't be easy finding players who want to play for the bottom side in the 2nd tier. Regardless of the cash. Finding enough to gel quickly into a team won't be easy at all.

Fastest hat tricks from my era: Harry Melrose in 21 minutes v Partick 1959 and also in 21 minutes Charlie Dickson v Ayr United 1964. Nisbet is in good company.

Yes, the free kick was hit sweetly but it has traveled a long way and you'd expect a good keeper to get across to it in time. A shame themalaise has set in after the 5th, I know the game is won and we (might) have a midweek game to prepare for but with the opposition down to ten you'd like to see us win the second half. We have had a few chances but Andy Ryan isn't the answer to any question I can think of, and McGill hasn't done enough for me whenever he's played. We need to wrap Nisbet in cotton wool!

Absolutely delighted with that, getting an early goal and a man sent off is obviously absolutely ideal but that wasn't by luck, it was good pressuring from Kiltie and then extremely intelligent play to draw in the challenge, we then went about things in exactly the right manner, high tempo, getting right in about Partick and giving them absolutely no time to settle and no time for there new defence to get there shape together. Make no mistakes about it, if you give them time to get solid, sit deep and we go longer and longer with it only being 1-0 it becomes a nervous game.

Nesbit will absolutely take all the plaudits and he absolutely should, you don't get four goals through luck. He knows where to be, when to be there and what to do once he's there, he was ably supported by the outstanding Ryan, Dow and Kiltie though who all played fantastically well, while Beadling had a fantastic assist for the 5th?

We tailed off in the last half hour but that's OK, one eye absolutely on Tuesday night.

On the downside Gill was made to look very foolish from a free kick again, he didn't have anything to do outwith that shot and he made an absolute hash of it. If we were to look at where we need to strengthen in January then GK is the obvious position, the mistake comes from him again having very, very poor footwork.

A good result that was slightly spoilt by a poor decision to replace the piping-hot Nesbit with the rookie McGill. Te lad did absolutely nothing when he came on (not for the first time, it has to be said). With Ryan and McGill, our attack was blunted.

If ever there was an opportunity to really capitalise on a game it would have been then, when Ryan should have been pulled off and McCann given a chance to play more central upfront with Nisbet.

The fluidity of our threat from both left and right was marvellous to behold. The interplay with Dow and Comrie and Kiltie was especially good. Kiltie was everywhere, supporting Martin on the left too.

Paton controlled play in the first half, though he did tend to overhit his passes at times, while Cochrane was a more than able replacement as the engine room in the second half.

Our goals from open play were all well worked.

This is a result that will give us confidence for sure, but there's a lingering feeling that we could and should have scored a few more.

Thought the game was done & dusted in the first 5 minutes with some poor game management by Partick.

1. I never understand this.........

Why the defender makes the challenge from behind So early in the game?
The angle was still acute
The goaly was starting to come out narrowing it further.

Defender takes Kiltie out - Pen - 1-0 - Red card & 10 men for 85 mins.

Why didn't the defender just let him go? worst case scenario Partick are 1-0 down.

2. It's a day for tricky ball players, condition underfoot are not great. McCall takes of Super Jo to restructure his team - Crazy decision.

.....but let's not take anything away from our performance. We played the ball about, stretched their defence & got in behind time & time again. The wide players were excellent & the movement upfront was impressive. We looked like we could score with every attack.

Great team effort - MOTM - Lewis Martin - strolled through that game, composed, steady & confident.

Best shout - "Cmon ref blow your whistle it's freezing!"

Murray and Thomson still to come into the team.

Would like to see Beadling get a run in Paton's role, but that wont happen.

I would also like to see McCann get a run up top, next to Nisbet.

Reasons to be optimistic about the season ahead.

Excellent result regardless of opposition and numerical advantage. If we can somehow manage to win on Tuesday we are only 4pts of 2nd which is mental considering the start of the season we had.

Awight Pat!

Good win that was. Quite a few decent chances apart from the goals and, although we had an extra man for almost the whole game, we looked far more comfortable in the conditions than they did. A man short they were, but Partick Thistle were still terrible at the back and it was just as comfortable as you'd think if just looking at the score. No big deal that the second half wasn't the best - it usually goes like that when one side has a big lead, and with a game on Tuesday it would have been stupid to burst ourselves, rather than having an easy last half hour. We played sensibly for almost all of it and I'm pleased with that.

It always feels a bit strange on these rare occasions when you have a big lead early in the second half and the game just dies as it would usually just be getting interesting. The feeling of misery for the Partick Thistle fans must have been strong, but the joy in winning is nowhere near what it was after the recent home wins against Ayr and Queen of the South.

That was a big call to bring Devine back at centre half today, but he did OK in the main. Given the choice, I think I'd have kept the same centre-half pairing as Martin and Ashcroft have been pretty good together recently but the system worked quite well. The only criticism I have is that Devine often found himself in uncomfortable situations and maybe should have just played the simple ball up the line sometimes, rather than always play it around at the back. A couple of dodgy moments at the back on a difficult surface at the Cowden end in the first half.

Good to see some recent home wins after that long run without one.

Very good day, crawford made the right sub taking paton off as he was just slowing play down and has no creativity, can only pass sideways or back even under no pressure which was pointless against a team battered after 30 mins. First game Cochran’s has looked good in but he had the freedom of fife. As mentioned for me beadling should be playing patons role, why we made our most limited player captain I don’t know. Thompson for paton and that’s a pretty good team we’re got for the second half of the season. Turner wasn’t missed but is one for next season hopefully.

We might aswell have left once nisbet went off, as mentioned it killed the game and we then had zero threat as Ryan was very poor continually giving the ball away.

Haven’t seen all much of him but not convinced by McGill, total headless chicken, no intelligence in his running about so only touched the ball like 3 times. Safe to say, him and coley will get very limited game time before sent back or released.

It was important today, perfect time to play thistle as in January they will get some players in and will be fine.

Did either keeper make a save today? If it was on target it was a goal. Gill should have done better with free kick, never looks comfortable to me..

It was pretty obvious that Crawford made the subs yesterday to save the legs of key players with two games coming up in 7 days. They weren't tactical or a reflection of the contributions being made by the players replaced. Unfortunately Berkey's analysis can never hide his antipathy towards certain players. First it was Wedderburn then it was Higgy and now it's Paton who has actually been quite influential in a few games this season and 'assisted ' some goals.

Re Partick, a lot of folk thought Falkirk would be safe after the January transfer window but that's not how it worked out. Sometimes the players you need aren't available at that time.

Only you could highlight EVERY SINGLE SLIGHTLY NEGATIVE thing about a 5-1 win. Unbelievable

Ah I see, thistle gave the points away 5 minutes in so that means everyone in a pars shirt is a great player? we played well at points tho but I’ve seen league 2 teams put up more of a fight than Partick did.

I agree there’s a place for paton in games against the better teams in this league but he’s very limited and yesterday after 30mins we didn’t need that. I’d like to see Thompson and beadling play together, we know having a midfield 2 with one who is not mobile so sits too deep doesn’t work against the better teams.

I could mention we finally got a bit of luck with the 2nd penalty as it was never a pen in a million years.

I was just disappointed that nisbet was taken off when flying, had he stayed on we might have scored a couple more. Yesterday showed we don’t have any strength in depth upfront, McCann a much option than McGill anyway.

We were 5-0 up and have a game on Tuesday night. Pretty obvious why he made the subs he did if you've got half a brain cell

Do you actually enjoy it when we win?
