I’m assuming Andy Ryan and Josh Edwards are injured. Thought Gill did enough to keep his place. Could be a bad decision by Crawford putting Scully straight back in. Think Gill has more confidence. We gonna be going with 4-5-1 Nesbit and Kiltie playing wide with Nesbit up front or Turner wide with Nesbit and Kiltie up front? 4-4-2

He didn’t put him straight back in - Scully was benched last week.

Gill did ok last week but flapped badly at a couple of crosses at 2-1.

Scully has been pretty steady after his return to the team and pre injury.

Mon the Pars!!!!!!!!!!!

Stanza, I’m only going by stats as not able to make the game today. Scully might be keeping the score down, but I’m a bit cheesed off that Gill was dropped for this game, surely his confidence would of been a lot higher having played more games recently. In the end it doesn’t really mater, we’re still in a good position in the table & no shame in getting beat by one of the favourites to get promoted. Just sad to see gill being dropped.

A thrilling end to the game. So close but yet so far. A good game to watch with both teams playing their football mainly on the deck. Disappointed with a number of aspects of our play today, but proud of the way that the Pars responded after going down to 10 men.

Paton played an important role when he came on, calming things down in midfield.

I commend Crawford for his substitutions. Each one was correct in my opinion and had the desired effect.

It could have been much much worse.

Anyone criticising Scully clearly wasn’t at the game. He kept the score down with a couple of great saves. Made an outstanding save early on, from a shot that looked destined for the top corner. For those just looking at stats, you do realise that an own goal doesn’t add to the ‘shots on target’ stat...

Anyway, our defending today was horrendous. Genuinely horrendous. I’d put Martin back to CB and either of today’s CBs could be dropped. Credit to the team for never giving up. Paton seemed to calm us down a bit and that change helped us to make an attempt to get back into the game. Beadling really impressed me today with his positive play and he never seemed to stop running.

Also, for those questioning our goalkeepers, you should be grateful we don’t have Jack Hamilton. He looked very suspect for our 2nd and 3rd goals.

Not overly surprised it was high scoring as Dundee looked shocking at the back (Nisbet played right on Forster) and we had Ashcroft and Devine performing and making errors like last season. Dundee have decent firepower and I'm sure they will be in the playoffs but their 2nd (Ashcroft slip) and 3rd (ball not being knocked away) were dreadful errors.

Kiltie didn't look at it today though I felt his 1st booking was harsh but may need to see it again. He tends to have more good games than bad so I reckon he will be missed next week.

I still reckon we are good enough to go to Inverness and get a positive result but desperately need Murray back fit.

A draw would've been fair. Nisbet was brilliant on forster. Ashcroft was culpable for several goals. Dundee also got several breaks of the ball for their goals which was unfortunate. How forster managed to stay on the park was beyond me, the ref was utterly incompetent. Good game and we go again next week. I'd bring paton back in for cochrane

That was a really exciting game, largely due to defensive frailties of both teams, but also to the Pars fightback that fell just short.
Credit to Dundee as well, I thought they played some good stuff, against 11 men anyway - after that they just didn't know what to do and they were outplayed and outfought.

Ashcroft has been great recently but had a shocker in the first half - ironically he looked much better after handing the captain’s armband back to Paton. Whole team got a shot in the arm with Paton and Thomson in the midfield - I don’t get the fuss over Cochrane.
Nisbet looked a real threat despite not having great service and I was impressed at how much Comrie and Martin kept going.
Goalkeeper remains a concern though - Scully made a great save in the first half (and another decent one as well) - however, he was all over the place on several occasions when the ball came into the box - a Dundee supporting colleague has just sent me a message saying he doesn’t know who is worse - Scully or Jack Hamilton (and Hamilton had a mare!!).
Great that we kept going though - Dundee were hanging on at the end and could have had no complaints if we’d got an equaliser.

It was bloody freezing!!!!

back down to fourth !!! and only on goal difference from Dundee ,
At the end of the day if you give any team a few goals of a start you have a mountain to climb couldn't get to the game today so i cannot comment on anything , I can only go with reports and it seems Ashcroft and Devine were gash and made lots of errors which in turn got Dundee the points , lets not dwell on the defeat but instead look forward to next week as Inverness lost also ,
So it's going to be interesting

It was frustrating that all 4 goals were preventable.

1st - it was our corner and a quick break and we are behind.
2nd - too much time and space to cross and really basic movement from the striker to get the header.
3rd Ashcroft should have put the ball in the stand
4th our kick off we gave the ball right to them

I think we were lucky it was 4-1 when we got the red. It sounds weird but dundee didn't know what to do with so long left, they tried to keep ball and kill game but we played our way back and get the 2 goals and then they were nervy as hell. If it was 2-1 and the red dundee would have continued to go for it.

Scully done ok today some cracking saves and all 4 goals unsaveable I would say.

It was freezing. Dens is a dump.

The main thing I take out of the match today was the team spirit. I don't think that would have happened early in the season. 100% last season that would have been 5 or 6 to our 1.

I never thought we were out of the game but the daft errors cost us dearly.

It seemed to me that we got caught up in thinking about attacking in the first half and fell short defensively as a result. Lee Ashcroft has done pretty well this season but had a nightmare of a first half including giving two goals away. I was more annoyed at Dundee's first goal though - when you have a corner, you have to be thinking about defending the breakaway as much as creating a chance of your own. Cochrane surely has to get to that ball and just hit some kind of shot or pass, even if it goes nowhere useful. Once it got past there, it was always dangerous.

Not a terrible game, but I often find that high-scoring games are made out to be better than they actually were and this is probably one of those. The two quick second half goals certianly made the last 20 minutes interesting, but in truth we didn't come anywhere an equaliser until injury time. It would have been wonderful if we'd managed another goal at the end, but over the game Dundee probably deserved to win, simply because they defended a bit better than we did.

We had chances. If Beadling had hit the target when he broke through at 4-1, we might have scraped an almost impossible 4-4 draw but he ballooned it way over the bar. But the way this one went a high score was on the cards. Losing the 4th goal right after half time was the killer. They just ran right through us from the goal kick. Think they picked up 5 bookings to our two yellows for Kiltie. Maybe should have pulled off Kiltie earlier. He wasn't having a great game and the risk of a second yellow was high.

The "choir" has great enthusiasm and could be a real asset but there was too much bravado and obscenities aimed at the opposition fans. Bit embarrassing at times.

In the first half it looked like we had our Xmas night out on Friday night and we were suffering from a hangover. Having said that Dundee were the hungrier team in the first half and did to us what we did to them at East end in the first half. It looked to me that Martin in the first half hour was trying to play left back and central defence and gave Dundee a lot of space out wide right, was this Stevies idea? cos the defence looked very unbalanced and Martin hardly crossed the half way line going forward in first half. Our defence was very poor first half today and Dundee "s matched then in the second half. Paton made a difference when he came on and stablised the midfield. Please can we work on keeping possession from our own throwins for next week.

Our defence was brutal in the 1st half.
Ashcroft has to be told to get a feking grip about positioning when defending.
On a positive note and I feel we could have made it 4-4 we tried to fight back with 10 men.

Always thought that after Morris left, Ashcroft has never been as indestructible as he was that year. Still a decent defender but those years he was incredible

End of the day we lost but at least our goal difference did not take a pounding as it was on the cards at 4-1 down with ten men.

The way the team fought back has to be a positive.

Let’s see how they respond next week, we really need to get something from that game.

Disnae work that way though. Missing a sitter at 4-3, after the other 2 were in the bag would work that way but at 4-1, if he scored then the game would have restarted and every play thereafter would be different to what lead to the other two goals. We might still have got 2 more but we might have lost another two.

Agree 'The Choir' made a big noise all match, but the content of their chants is embarrassing for the majority of decent fans. Why do they feel it is necessary to include all the swearing, they make a great atmosphere even when our support is not so large at away games, such a pity they have to portray themselves as a bunch of drunken kids. On that note it spoils the day for families with young children.

We defended as well as the score suggests. Devine was back to his old 'form' and Ashcroft was very poor also. Cochrane was a bit slow for the first goal and probably should have taken a yellow card to stop the counter - Devine could do nothing with the own goal though he had to try and intercept the pass. Ashcroft simply let Hemmings drop off him for a free header for the second and then Devine gave the ball away in a fatal area for the 3rd. I sadly missed the 4th but we managed to concede extremely quickly.

Go forward we looked dangerous, Nesbit and Dow especially. Kiltie had a nightmare, he had the wrong boots on to begin with, kept giving the ball away (often in promising positions) and then picked up two needless deserved bookings. Paton helped a lot when he came on, Turner was ok but his set pieces were poor and Beadling had a good game although fluffed a great chance.

Pretty frustrating but we simply made too many mistakes to pick up any points.

Good fightback from 4-1 down & with 10 men. It wasn't to be though. Good day for the Crawford haters though 👍🏼

I'm with Rasta on this. His replies could never be described as temperate or diplomatic, but he makes a very valid point - no Pars fan wants to see the team get beat so they can slag off the manager.

I'd like to think that's true. However the same posters cannot wait to get tore in to the manager sometimes before the games even started.

We had a clown yesterday criticising Ryan Scullys performance based ENTIRELY on internet stats.

The place is littered with half wits

da no 1 - 1464 posts and probably never started a thread, 1450 of those posts will be name calling or trolling of other posters opinions but rarely declares his own unless its to ridicule someone elses.

I dont disagree with a lot of Da no 1s posts but this one was unneccessary. Fair enough if someone had a go at Crawford but nobody did. Totally with Rasta on this one. DA is right about the Scully remarks though. Maybe thats what wound him up.

Since when did starting a thread equate to anything? I notice you didn't pick up Rastas earlier post where he called someone an imbecile? Why have a go at me?

To be honest I was talking about the general overreaction when we lose a game, not specifically yesterday. And yes I couldn't believe KirklistonPar having a go at Scully based on live updates. I would never comment on a performance having not attended the game.

My response was adequate and wholly deliberate given the continued assertion there are Pars fans hoping for defeats.
Jings my disdain for Crawford's appointment was made clear, achingly at times....however....if I can't be at a game I'm hanging off this app checking every two minutes for a "get in!!" post to hopefully appear.
What kind of sad ego would actually want the manager and team to fail to have a flimsy claim to having been right?
I'll gum up humble pie all day long, hope the portions keep coming.
So yeah...stand by it.

I Hope You're Ok Today....
