Gets the West Ham gig again. His agent must be the best in the business. Just rolls up to these mutli million pound jobs over and over again, fails, gets a big fat pay off, has a few months off and then another lucrative contract gets put under his nose to sign. He's the Scottish version of Claudio Ranieri without a flukey extraordinary season on his CV.

It's spoken like someone who doesn't understand how he continues to get top flight jobs despite failing, in some cases quite badly, at his previous clubs. Even at Everton it was very much a mixed bag. For every season that they threatened to qualify for the champions league (and never did by the way) there would be a season spent flirting with a relegation fight.

Good Luck Mr. Moyes pay no attention to towk the self appointed panacea of pash

Everton’s Premier League positions in the six seasons prior to David Moyes’ arrival as manager had been wretched.

Indeed in the decade before he was appointed Everton manager the Blues had managed one single top half finish, in 1996 under Joe Royle.

In the decade which followed his appointment he reversed that trend spectacularly.

The 17th place finish in 2004 was the only time his teams finished outside of the top 11.

From two skin of the teeth relegation escapes in 1994 and 1998 - and successive finishes of 15th, 17th, 14th, 13th, 16th and 15th - Moyes guided Everton to seventh, 17th, fourth, 11th, sixth, fifth, fifth, eighth, seventh, seventh, sixth and fifth.

He gave a club back its pride.

4th most wins as a manager in PL history behind Ferguson, Wenger and Redknapp. LMA Manager of the Year 3 times-only Ferguson has won more.

I think you are talking out your erse quite frankly. In his time at Everton he finished 15th in his first season although he came in in March when they were in the relegation zone under Walter Smith and kept them up, he also finished 17th in his 3rd season. Every other season he finished no lower than 11th and would more often than not finish in the top six despite having a brutal budget and signing gems like Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta for next to nothing and even Seamus Coleman for 60k, probably one of the best bits of business in the history of the Premier League.
Discredit him all you want but he did a great job at Everton.

Awight Pat!

I don't rate him as a manager but I appreciate stats put forward that support others opinions, that's all part of the debate. What I don't appreciate is Buspass's personal digs and insults but hey ho.

Just to clarify when I say I don't rate him as manager. That's maybe harsh, he's obviously competent. What I don't get is why he seems to be in such demand when he has yet to achieve anything.

Moyes oversaw the start of the decline of Man Utd ... Which they've never really recovered from. For that reason he is a god to me.
I wish him the best of luck at his new club 🤣

He had West Ham a lot higher than they are now with a lot less money spent on them. Seems strange to criticise him when he's shown ge can get teams organised and out of danger.

Moyes is a decent manager, did well with Everton, wasn’t given the time with United to really change things and was always going to be difficult being the first to replace Ferguson.

His short term deal initially with West Ham also went really well, so don’t see how you can really criticise him.

A fluke season with Ranieri? Aye you can fluke your way through 38 games to a Premier League title right enough.

Honestly, the things you read on this forum man.

The dictionary definition of fluke is 'an unlikely chance occurance'. I'd say Leicester winning the league at 5000/1 odds was an unlikely chance occurance.

If it wasn't for the brilliance of Liverpool, they could quite easily have 'fluked' another title this year.

A lot of Leicester players credit nigel Pearson for the momentum going into the winning season.

It looks like hes got Watford organized and building a head of steam as well now. Wouldn't say they'll win the league next year lol but he must have something about him

I didn't say he was poor at Everton I said he had a mixed bag at Everton. His league finishes were much the same as Koeman, Martinez and Allardyce managed.
It's all about opinions. I just don't rate him as highly as others do.

Moyes got a lot of stick on social media for saying he was a 'winner', his critics pointing out that he hadn't won anything significant in the game as a manager. By that definition I suspect most of the managers in the Premiership wouldn't be 'winners' either. Pellegrini, on the other hand, had won championships and trophies but he couldn't translate it into success at West Ham. Moyes hasn't been appointed to win the league, just to keep West Ham in the Premiership and take it from there.

I think his comment got stick because his actual games won percentage when he was West Ham manager last time was the worst ratio of any West Ham manager of the past decade. When he said 'winning is what I do' he should have qualified that with the additional comment of 'three games out of every ten'.

"I think there's only two or three managers with a better Premier League win record. That's what I do, I win.

"I'm here to get West Ham wins and get them away from the bottom three."

I think that quote makes it clear what he was talking about. What gives a more representative sample - 500 games or 31 games? As you often see on here people just twist statistics around to suit their own opinions.
