 Board Statement
Topic Originator: EEP
Date:   Sat 4 Jan 20:10

I posted this around 2 months ago but it’s due now!
We have 35 players on the books with 4 loans and it’s just not working under the guidance of Crawford and his Bluebell ex assistant Dair.
I don’t know where Mr McNamara comes into this but if he has said go for this player he’s just getting money for nothing.
Can someone please clarify why McNamara is here?
Craw failed at East Fife then we took him over AJ?
Do the board know what they are doing on the playing side? Don’t get me wrong on a financial side they keep that to themselves but it’s the fans who have to watch that shower every week with that manager that doesn’t have a clue.

There seems to be a lack of leadership right through EEP.

The Board appointed SC, a man who at time of appointment had a poorer management record than either Stephen Kenny or Allan Johnston. Why did they assume he would make the team play better? The previous time they made an internal promotion with John Potter it was acknowledged as a failure, in fact these types of appointments very rarely pay off since the relationship between players and manager/assistant manager is quite different. The ones that do- such as Willie Cunningham or Bob Paisley- are usually when the assistant has been supporting a successful manager.

The leadership shown from the dugout is being described as close to inertia, and the half time ‘pep’ talks must be the most uninspiring since the days of Jocky Scott- a manager who could be relied upon to turn a flat first half performance into something genuinely depressing in the second.

The lack of leadership on the field is a major problem given the number of inexperienced players being blooded this season. Rather than seeking a goalkeeper or a left sided midfielder the priority should be an old warhorse who can breathe some fire and belief into the side, for it doesn’t seem as if the management team are capable at present.

That leadership is supposed to come from players like Paton and Ashcroft but there's not much sign of it. Paton gives the ball away too often and goes backwards more than forward. Ashcroft is error prone after a good start to the season but does not look comfortable alongside Devine. And little passion getting shown from the sidelines either. Crawford's demeanor reminds me of Jocky Scott who used to lean on the dugout like a cardboard cutout.

How many times did Paton give the ball away today?

There is certainly no leadership on the park and even less coming from the dugout

Da no1 there’s not much chance of loosing the ball receiving a 5 yard pass from the CB any time of the game.

The board have been silent for a while so I presume the fans are behaving themselves so I would like to see a statement regarding the management and team.... that’s not a lot to ask surely??

Early in the first half he was giving it away all the time, I counted 6 in a row at one point! Then he improved a bit but sadly, he just isn't good enough!

Paton had a reasonable game today. He certainly didn't give the ball away as much as others.
What game do people watch?

Not sure what you are talking about. I am simply talking about our captain's inability to regularly pass the ball to one of his own team mates.

Well you don't know what you are talking about then. I'd be certain his pass completion rate is high most weeks

Well clearly you were not paying enough attention today. As I said, I counted 6 passes in a row he gave away in the first half. Maybe you went down for a Bridie?

Hard to make passes for whoever was on the ball today because there was absolutely no movement from teammates. Don't know what they work on in training all week because they look clueless

You must have been behind Raymie in the Bridie queue.

We don’t need a player in Paton dropping deep to receive.... teams know we do this over and over again. Maybe we could mix the play up sometimes?

Paton certainly didn't do much wrong yesterday.
Found himself in lots of tight situations but more often than not got himself out of them.
Looking for scapegoats here.
