as ever on this forum you are entitled to your opinions,

however, it would be appreciated if your comments were constructive rather than abusive.

the forum is here to help pars fans discuss the football and when things are not going right it's your prerogative to help identify the way forward.

but if you're not constructive I don't think people will listen to you, IMHO

Brian

Some of the abuse I have been receiving is not nice at all.
I will be pressing the report button if it continues! You have all been warned!

Yes, the way forward.

Yesterday and today I've been reading the posts, searching for any crumb of comfort. And once in a while I get one. Somebody posted, like. we are where we are with the people we've got and we need to dig deep.

We do.

I doubt if we can do a "Southampton" and have such a spectacular revival without some new faces. I think our goalies have been good for a time, but they're both off form now. Doesn't mean they won't return to form, but in the meantime an in-form goalie is needed. And our defence is not working properly. Would Callum Morris or his sort make things click at the back?

Well said, Brian.

Nobody expects anyone to be happy at recent results and performances, but the bile and abuse directed at the manager and his assistants, the Chairman and the BoD and a good number of the playing squad, is appalling.

I've followed the Pars, year in year out, since 1963. There have been some moments of unbridled joy, but there have been many more disappointments. I've often been down after a game, sometimes even quite angry when we've been the victims of an injustice such as a poor refereeing decision.

I've been posting on Dotnet since 2006 and not once has it ever crossed my mind to state on here that the manager is a clown, the Chairman is clueless and player X is useless. No doubt that makes me a happy clapper in some people's eyes, but I prefer to think that I retain some dignity and a sense of perspective.

The most important things in my life are:-

1. My family. 2. My health and 3. The Pars.

And the Pars only moved up to 3rd place when I retired from teaching.

Brian - you are preaching to the converted (mostly) however there are still a few who persist with the wiseguy attitude and smartass comments.

I'd like to point out it makes me feel very bad having to run the forum when I see such abusive comments. when we delete such things that tirade of abuse is then directed at us !

BigJPar you are well off topic on this thread, so youre post is getting deleted !

I wonder sometimes how many interesting posters have been lost because they get fed up reading some of the pigswill 😅 (Quite a nice word, Don't get to use it often.)

Just as well the better ones keep posting though. They give me a lift.

There's no doubt the forum does a service above and beyond just chatting and folk letting off steam. I've learned more about people and myself by engaging with different kinds of folk on this forum than in my limited social life.

All credit to you Brian

What sort of a forum allows comments such as “absolute cretin” and “f*ckwit” simply because someone has a difference of opinion ? I’d start clamping down on that sort of nonsense. I don’t think the “abuse” of Crawford has been even close to the level AJ received.

In a way, it could be argued that the forum allows freedom of speech. We
should be able to conduct ourselves with dignity and not need to be policed and have offensive posts deleted because we shouldn't be making them in the first place.

Crawford, McArthur and some of our players have been described in terms which could easily get your face punched in the pub, if you said that directly to the person involved.
