 Board Meeting
Topic Originator: GG Riva
Date:   Tue 14 Jan 20:17

I got a bit bored waiting on EEP's "source" to tell us the outcome of Monday's Board meeting at EEP (still with me?) so I got my crystal ball out and the mist finally cleared a short time ago. Here's the gist of it :-

Chairman - I was on Dotnet yesterday and there's been a bit of a meltdown over the weekend. Some jokers even think I should pack it in. By the way, which one of you has been blabbing to the poster who calls himself EEP?

No me, Ross. Or me, Ross. Nor me, Ross. The boy has got an imaginary friend, Ross. Like Lola in "Charlie and Lola". His name is Soren Lawrenson.

Chairman - OK, results haven't been great of late. Some fans want us to sack the management team. What do you guys think?

Director A - Five defeats in a row - he has to go, Ross.
Director B - We can't sack a legend. He's our most capped international of all time.
Director C - Aye, we were on a good run before these defeats, looking good for the play offs.
Director D - Aye but now We're looking good for the relegation play offs.
Director E Away ya doom monger. We'll scud Dundee on the telly and embark on a five game winning streak, that'll push us up to 2nd behind the Arabs, I tell you.
Director F - What makes you think that'll happen?
Director E - This Pars fan I know had two crystal balls and he gave me one for a Christmas present. I thought it was a gimmick but it really works.

Chairman - OK, we'll give Stevie more time to get the team winning again, but if your pal with the crystal balls has been taking the mickey, you're going to tell me where he lives, so I can break them over his head.....

Ooer.......

Brilliant GG, is Director E the Provost by any chance?

On a serious note, knowing a few of the individuals, I know they will be as upset as all who post on this site and remember at least one Director posts on here from time to time so they are well aware of the concerns.

Director E: So, I've decided it's time bite the bullet and get the bungalow roof redone.
Director F: I can sort you out there...
Director E: Oh, umm...I've already got some lads coming round. They did give a very competitive price. They said they'd do it as long as I don't read any of my poetry.
Director B: The bugger didn't use us to monoblock his drive either...

Out of curiosity, are you on commission for the dribble that falls from yer gub, trickles down yer chin and onto yer keyboard?

Indeed, VEE. For those of you who thought that I'm Going Slightly Mad, your concern is very touching but fear not, I'm not Still Crazy After All These Years, but wait a minute, why's that Big Yellow Taxi waiting outside my front door?

Director B really does need educating as to what a legend is, Crawford was a very decent player but no pars legend.

I think he'd probably make the Pars Greatest of all Time team, tbh, especially among our younger fans. We once had a thread on it and he featured prominently.

While John Watson was a great player for us and was one of my favourites in that era, Crawford was a better footballer and achieved a lot more in his career, such as his Scotland caps. There has always been a bit of a strange reluctance to admit his qualities by Pars fans, even when he was at his peak.

Interesting how Ross Jack is remembered,I think he hadn't scored for sometime since signing ,and the fans were on his back ,just as well there was no .net then,I'm sure he scored his first goal at EEP and round giving to get it up ye sign to the home fans ,that's how I remember it anyway .

I don't recall that, Salton. Are you maybe getting RJ mixed up with George O'Boyle? He went something like 17 or 18 games without scoring, but his game was so good he provided plenty of assists for Jack & Co.

Ross Jack did really well one season when he put in some extra pre-season training on his own. He was so sharp and scored for fun that year.

I remember Stewart Petrie couldn't score when he first arrived but he went on to stay 10 years scoring a decent amount of goals along the way including the infamous Tannadice goal.Think his first goal may have been a penalty with all our fans encouraging him to take it? Not sure how many games it took him to score.

SC was an outstanding consistent performer for the club - I can still visualise him doing a nutmeg on Elvis near the goal line and squeezing it in from an "impossible" angle alt the Norrie end.

His chipped goal v Rangers from a Brewster headed on free kick is also up there.

Think we beat Hearts 3-1 that day, Bullen with an absolute worldy.

I'm sure Crawford then immediately went on international duty and shared transport after the match with Pressley, must've been banter.

You're right about the GIRUY sign to the fans but it came at Tannadice.
He came off the bench to some boos from the pars fans who weren't impressed he hadn't scored in many weeks and promptly scored the equaliser in a 2-2 draw and stuck the fingers up (rightly so) to the away fans.
He never looked back afterwards going on an amazing run of goals in the next couple of years.

If you only turn up to moan then do it elsewhere
