Liverpool - Man U (Clash of the Titans)

Or maybe Battle of the Giants? ☺

Since the 1960s, the Reds of Liverpool and Manchester have slugged it out to claim the right to be considered the best in the land. They have both had long periods of dominance, during which they amassed numerous trophies, both at home and in Europe. Their achievements in the last 50-60 years dwarf those of every other English club.

Liverpool are surely on their way to claiming their first league title in 30 years, regardless of today's result. A game between these clubs is always compulsive viewing, even if it doesn't always live up to the hype. According to the bookies, it'll be a walk in the park for the Scousers who they're offering at 2/5. Man U are 13/2.

Only a fool would bet against Liverpool on their own patch, especially as United are bedevilled by injuries and poor form. Nobody fancied them to win at the Etihad either but they did. I'm looking forward to it. Could be interesting if United score first. If Liverpool win as expected, I think the bookies will pay out to those who have backed them to win the EPL.

Man Utd have provided Liverpool's hardest test so far so won't be surprised at another draw.

If you only turn up to moan then do it elsewhere

For those of us with 'cooncil telly' the Clash of the Titans is Dundee United v Hibs which could be equally intriguing.

Would imagine a comfortable win for Liverpool unfortunately. Might give it a miss, can't stand watching Klopp thump his chest and fist pump his way up the touchline.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd

Ah, you can't be a true United fan, TOWK. A true fan will always approach every game with hope in his heart. It's what keeps us turning up even when our team can't buy a win, as is the case with the Pars, currently.

Tell me, did you watch City v United at the Etihad, or were you hiding under your bed, fearing a mauling from Aguero and Co?.... 😃

I despise Klopps over the top celebrations . I can’t see past Liverpool today , probably a dodgy VAR decision in it , Man Utd just don’t have the players/manager to deal with Liverpool at the minute.

I much prefer a manager with ''over the top celebrations'' to one who shows little or no emotion. I don't know if you're old enough to remember Jocky Scott when he was our manager. He never looked remotely interested or happy, even when we won....

Maybe your loathing of Klopp is down to your hatred of Liverpool. Did you feel the same way about Mourinho when he slid along the Old Trafford touchline on his knees, in his expensive designer suits?

I don’t like Jose’s antics nor Peps for that matter. I believe once the whistle goes a manager should conduct themselves with a bit of decorum . I find the Klopp show completely nauseating and it really sums up that classless fecker and modern football imo.

De Gea lucky there. What has happened to him? He’s went from world class to flapper in the last few seasons. That goal should have stood.

Some of these Man Utd players wouldn’t have got a game for Utd reserves during the Fergie years . Having said that I remember Liverpool having some truly awful players over the past 20 years . Titi Camara , Bruno Cheyrou , bosko balaban, Milan Jovanovic . Paul Konchesky or Andrew Robertson lol

Yet again we are watching Varball instead of football - cue all the apologists with their Var blinkers spouting about getting the right decision and that wasn't down to VAR

VAR is rotten. In my opinion it destroys the spirit of football but it’s so difficult to use that as your argument when anoraks will just get out their wee excel spreadsheet of times VAR has righted a wrong. It was brought in for the armchair TV fans whose subscriptions finance the league . There was a study that stated that EPL teams could play to empty stadia and still turn a profit due to EPL money. That’s basically what it comes down to.

Ridiculous to have denied that goal for the challenge on De Gea. Liverpool should have been out of sight but Martial had a great chance to equalize. Hi

'Mo Salah you little dancer'. The words of Jamie Carragher. What an absolutely horrendous co commentator he is.

Absolutely cringeworthy. He's by far the poorest co commentator/ match summariser on TV and that's saying something.

Hearty congratulations to Liverpool for a great victory, worthy world champions. Should have been 5 or 6. It's amazing how they seemed to be first to every ball for 90% of the game. Klopps sparkling teeth are a joy to behold. Salah capped off a great display by sliding home a final breakaway goal, very well deserved on the balance of play. Oh dear I hope I'm not treading on anyone's sensitive toes here.
