Agreed but Levein was there for a reason. If he wants him lets hope there is some competition and we get a decent fee.

The crowd didn't look as much as 3700. Hardly surprising with two teams in terrible form and it being on council telly.

PARrot, I Buffy’s talking about fans - payday is next week and that will have impacted the attendance. January is generally one of the toughest months financially for individuals without a lot of disposable income.

How is it £18 across the board ?

A significant % would be concessions.

Bear in mind that many of those regulars who were not at last night's game are season ticket holders, whose tickets are already paid for.

And at the last Supporters' Council meeting, the Chairman said the average revenue to the club for a walk-up ticket was £11.62.

Any calculations need to be done using these factors, plus perhaps a bit for lost profit (not revenue) from function suites.

How is that calculated Stanza ?

The cost of a ticket is £18, of which which 20% is VAT = a fifth.

Therefore the club gets 80%, which is 4 x £3.60 = £14.40.

Or is the tax calculated differently ?

is the £11.62 taking into account overheads, stewards etc ?

Well YePars, Fred's estimate may actually be low. I was speaking to people at the club who are not given to exaggeration and they reckon we probably lost nearer £30k.

Eta. That's a gross figure, rather than net profit, obviously.

No idea - I wasn't there but the info is on the DAFC website HERE. if you can, come along to the next Supporters' Council meeting and ask the Chairman! If you can't make it, drop him an email and ask him - I'm not being facetious, I'm sure he'll give you a full and courteous reply.

"Adult tickets are £22 main stand and £20 other stands"

Which throws even more doubt on the £11,62 quoted.

Is there a qualified beancounter around?

On an admission price of £18 the VAT is £3. VAT is 20% of the NET price, so it's one-sixth of the gross, not one-fifth.

Yes, several on the Board of Directors if you really want a definitive answer to a question that might have been better put when the Chairman put it in the public domain 7 months ago.
Note that the figure of £11.62 was quoted last June, so possibly it referred to last season's prices, in which case this year might be about 10% higher. But the Chairman will give you a definitive figure if you really want it - answers on social media to specific questions like this may or may not be accurate.

Anyway, there's no doubt the club will have lost a significant amount of potential revenue. Maybe it will be made up by an increase in Nisbet's transfer value! :)

Well corrected Wee Eck.

Therefore obviously the club gets £15 from an £18 ticket.

The chairman’s figure was probably based on last season’s prices, and perhaps includes unavoidable expenses like police etc. ?

Is the £11.62 not just based on the average ticket price taking both full price and concessions into account?

But you can use a league game at 7pm on a Friday night?

also there was more Motherwell fans at dens last weekend than dundee fans regardless of the game being on tv last night or not dundee would have still bought a rubbish crowd as there fans only give a toss when they are playing well a bit like a number of our fans as well

What was the attendance for the first televised game v Dundee last August, out of interest?

I agree it's hard to quantify how many extra fans we would have had at 3 pm today with no TV, but it can't be denied that Live TV coverage has an adverse effect on attendances. There were loads of empty seats around me in the main stand. Many will be ST holders. The Rennie Suite was half empty too, so if those who'd already paid stayed away.......

Hamilton v Livingston was watched by 1,487 today and St Johnstone v Kilmarnock by 2,609. That must be quite disheartening for the folk who run the home clubs, both of which are quite established in the Premiership.

Hamilton v Livingston crowd is dreadful , Apart from the 2 Edinburgh Clubs, Hamilton is probably their nearest rivals ( could be Motherwell). Anyhow for a premiership game to attract a crowd of under 1500 fans that are only separated by around 25 miles of motorway tells everyone that the game in scotland is fecked.

The Dunfermline Board have shown commendable ambition and courage resisting the bids for Kevin Nisbet 48 hours after rubber stamping the move for Owain Fon Williams.

These deserve an increased attendance at the forthcoming Home match with Inverness CT.
