Just dropped into the Kelty Jambos website - Nathan is still leading goal scorer with 43 to his credit and a bunch of assists....

Basically a championship level player playing in the lowland league. Imagine Nisbet at that level 😂 I'm not well versed with how Kelty manage to fund their squad but on paper they should have a good shot at league 2 given their team.

The kelty setup is class. Gives the players a career that will last well beyond their playing years. Brilliant

It's hard to understand the motivation behind the development of a club like Kelty other than as a vanity project for the chairman. No matter how successful they become they are unlikely to attract many new fans to the game. Having said that, I suppose it's no different from, say, Ross County or Alloa.

Of course they are. Do you have any evidence to the contrary?

They are sustainable in the same way Gretna were. Aslong as the man with the cash is in the background they should do well.
Once he is gone they the fall back down the the leagues (assuming they get up them first).

More drivel from saline hill puma. The way Kelty have gone about their business is a million miles away from what happened at Gretna.

They are part time, Gretna were full time and had to play every game away from home.

Plus the added income of Pars reserve games at Kelty, st Johnstone also used it last season for games.
It's a real community hub. Ladies team play there under 21s.
Set up is very impressive with more to come pre season to add more hospitality areas and so on.

I lived in Gretna during their great cup run Me and my son Graeme went to Hampden to support them in the final .. still have the scarf .. and with a wee bit of luck they could have won the Scottish Cup

Aye he invested his supposed fortune in a lot of teams around the area he tried to buy Carlisle his first love but was unsuccessful .. but the players he brought in to Gretna were hardly world beaters they were journeymen mainly but had a great work ethic

Towards the end of his tenure at Gretna, Mileson was reported to be heavily in debt, with his personal bank account reported to be overdrawn by almost half a million pounds. Mileson was posthumously declared bankrupt in February 2010, after a businessman who was owed £1.85 million by Mileson made an application to Carlisle County Court.

Who in there right mind would invest in a football club

The pitch isn’t owned by Kelty, you book the hire through Fife Council.

Correct. It means Kelty do not have the upkeep of the 4g pitch to consider. They'll always have somewhere to play

To be fair most of the council owned parks the council don't take anything from it. I'm sure the club lease it and keep the money they make from it but I'm not 100 percent if that's the deal kelty have.

c'mon the pars

What a daft comment. The pitch has been replaced on a regular basis at a cost of hundreds of thousands of pounds each time. It is a community asset and is never going to run at a profit.

No idea what Keltys pitch costs but a quote for a non league side in England, pitch size 106m x 71m was 360k for a 3g astro type pitch.

I think that if a pitch was only used for 1st and reserve teams it would last for decades, however that wouldn't make money.
