Noticed Celtic and Dundee Utd tweeted something out about thoughts being with him and his family, but didn't know what it was. Quite strange our SM team haven't released anything - they are usually on the ball. All the best to Jackie, hope he makes a full recovery.

Not sure what the reason is but there have been other tweets in the past day or so. Would take 30 seconds to send a message wishing Jackie all the best. A professional football club having only one person who had access to the social media would be a bit bizarre.

If only you knew how many large organisations have single people with access to their social media. The company I worked for came to me for the password to an old website after I left. I didn't have any involvement with the site and the person who had the details had left 5 years previous. The site had been hacked and they didn't know what to do.

has it occurred to any of you that in all likelihood that the chairman has contacted Jackies family personally to pass on the clubs best wishes there is zero reason for the club to do it publicly other than to please a few simpering fuds on here

My thoughts too Back oh the net. People these days are obsessed with quick and easy and rather impersonal electronic communications rather than the more old fashioned personal approach which can take a little bit more effort, but in the end probably means more to recipients. I would suspect the club has privately been in touch with the family.

Hope he has a full recovery.

It's just the day and age we live in of course the club would have contacted his family to wish him well etc, but he is currently the clubs Consultant, all his formaer clubs etc have posted a message of support for him, Just looks strange that we have not

Every chance, considering our Chairman has been in touch with messages of support for two members of our Pars family, who have recently been diagnosed with and cancer and I know personally.

Maybe its just me ,but reading some posts on here its like some are willing it to be the case that DAFC have in some way not contacted Jackies family on this sad issue just to have another avenue to complain .

I am sure our chairman , staff and anyone related to the club has passed on their sympathy and support in their own way .

If it was me I'd much rather have someone offer me personal sympathy & messages of support than the generic "our thoughts are with..." bog-standard twitter/pussbook crap.

Not really the issue here. Hope the guy is OK.

I'd gently suggest that folk join a few dots:

1. Jackie's daughter has asked for the privacy of the family to be respected

2. The Chairman is in very regular contact with Jackie and knows his family.

3. The Vice-Chairman knows Jackie's dad and indeed introduced me to him at the golf outing a couple of years ago.

4. The Chairman supports Pars families who have experienced life changing news on an almost weekly basis. He doesn't hesitate.

I am certain that the McNamara family know that they have the whole hearted support of everyone at Dunfermline Athletic, and indeed everyone on this thread. I am sure that public comment will be made when it is appropriate.

Thank you for putting everyone's mind at ease with such wonderful tact and diplomacy, TRBFC.

It's something I aspire to but have some way to go yet, as can be seen from the following sentence:-

It's a pity you weren't able to post a little earlier in this thread as it would have saved some of our more precious posters much unnecessary angst and hand wringing.
