 Champions league places

Scotland is on track to have two teams enter the Champions League from the 2021/2022 campaign.

The performance of Celtic and Rangers in the Europa League this season has propelled the country up the Uefa Coefficient table ahead of what was the Czech Republic, now Czechia.

Not only will Scotland have two Champions League places, they would have a Europa League spot, plus two qualifiers for the new Uefa Conference League.

More money for the usual suspects, wonder how much they'll share with their Scottish neighbours?🤔🤔🤔

Why should they share anything?

Once upon a time there were 2 big teams that dominated Scottish Football, they played in Europe won cups and generated lots of money, from success and TV fees.

These Clubs went out and bought players from other Scottish Clubs, thus the wealth was shared throughout Scottish Football.

Maybe with having Nisbet we may get some crumbs from the "Top Table "🤔🤔🤔

One of these clubs needs £10m to see out the season according their accounts. Need income from European football to be a sustainable entity according to the statement from the owner of the company that owns the company that owns (or is) the club. Those statements alone should mean that the SFA cannot sanction a licence for that club to participate in European football.

Meanwhile another Glasgow based club who have the financial clout to do something about this do nothing because the impact affects their ceo' s bonus. The owners of the other 40 clubs (who allegedly ARE the governing body) say nothing, content to take the dregs of what's left.

I hope Man City fall it'll be the start of the domino effect ...except in Scotland where , even after a nuclear holocaust , one entity would crawl out of the carnage unscathed along with the cockroaches

And the 300k is sure to be welcomed by the SPFL clubs, helps buy their silence about potential rule breaking by one of the entities which contributes to the 300k.
All the SFA/SPFL care about is satellite TV revenue for Celtic v Sevco.. nothing else matters as can be seen by the status given to an 8 year old club

Well if its only an eight year old club it's pretty extraordinary that they have already made it to the last 32 of the Europa League. Must be some sort of record.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd

So RB Leipzig are only slightly older than Therangers and they're doing much better since they already have one foot in the last 8 of the CL.

Maybe our youngest club can aspire to that level in a few years time?

Most clubs should be aspiring to the levels achieved by RB. I was of course being slightly flippant with my remark about how well Rangers are doing for such young club. Although I like to have a wee dig at a Rangers fans as well from time to time about them being a new club they are for intents and purposes the same club that was founded in 1873.

Most clubs would struggle to aspire to RB’s level as they simply don’t have the same financial clout. The most interesting thing for me though for a brand new team is how quickly they have built up a following - they are averaging gates of nearly 40000 (for a ground that holds not much more than this) - compare this to a Livingston - a big catchment and a team exceeding all expectations yet they just don’t seem able to increase their support at all.

Leipzig has a population of 600,000, AJ. Livingston's catchment area is nowhere near that. On top of that, many of its inhabitants have Glaswegian roots, so guess which teams they follow?
