It was in superb condition and a credit to the groundsmen. That was one advantage we got from the long lay-off.

John Robertson commented on it saying it was a pleasure to play on, after playing on paddy fields the last couple of weeks.

The weather has been rotten but the pitch hasnt been abused, the 3 weeks in October with no home games, 4 weeks in November, 3 weeks in December, and 32 days since the last home game have really helped.

I've just checked. We've had 9 home games since the end of September, 21 weeks ago. That's good news for the groundsmen but not for the finances! Mind you, normally in that period you would only expect to have 10 or 11 games. Early exits from the cup competitions contributed of course.
