Only way Scotland can now miss out on 2 UCL places is if ALL: Celtic are knocked out by Copenhagen AND Olympiakos beat Arsenal and go much further in the UEL. AND FC Basel (likely) reach the Europa League final OR APOEL overturn the 3-0 defeat and go further in the UEL.

If Celtic beat Copenhagen (or go through with a draw), then Scotland are guaranteed to be 13th in the UEFA Ranking at the end of the season.

Careful MDCetc. there are lots of Sevco debunkers on here. It was a great result, in fact going by chances they should have won 3-0. I am in Portugal just now but not for the football and noticed the Rangers party in the departure lounge at Glasgow Airport yesterday getting ready for their chartered flight to Braga. Whatever the background and baggage it always does me good to see a Scottish team win in Europe.

I'm certainly no fan but that was a tremendous result.

To think they were dead and buried at 0-2 at Ibrox and then come back to win was no mean feat, but to then beat Braga again on their own patch is some result.

Some achievement for only being in existence for 8 years. Money does play a part in that i suppose.

Paralex I agree 100%, I even shouted on Falkirk and the Rovers in Europe, in saying that I have way more respect for Raith and Falkirk than I do for either of Glasgows big two

The Rangers or just Rangers I despise the whole club and their fans which includes my wife’s family. Deluded and every authority is against them....

That's a great achievement when you consider Lazio are 2nd in Serie A just behind Juve.
Superb result by Rangers last night.

Awight Pat!

Great result for Rangers. Fingers crossed Celtic can do the business against Copenhagen tonight as well. They've done a great job for the Scottish co-efficient, which should only help our game in the long run.

Fair play to Rangers. Well done.

As for the coefficient and any potential benefit for the rest of scottish football, I'm not sold.

20 years of factual evidence show that the only clubs who benefit from European football and the coefficient are Rangers and Celtic. Aberdeen, Kilmarnock and the like get their occasional July outing at some far away european outpost but it's back to domestic business before the school holidays have ended.

If we get 2 champions league places again it will only exacerbate the massive gulf between "us and them" and ensure that the likes of St Johnstone, Aberdeen etc are playing in front of ever-dwindling crowds and competing for absolutely nothing.

Before we think about the games in Iceland and Perth . We have to look at the fact that Iceland have qualified for the world Cup and European Cup. Something Scotland has failed to do for decades.

Nor me. I see far more negatives coming from that poisonous organisation getting more money than I see positives coming from any perceived increase in our co-efficient etc.

I know that the only 2 clubs that will make anything out of them doing well in Europe is Rangers and Celtic, but why shouldn't they ? They are the only 2 clubs in Scotland spending money on their squads(even tho at least one of them are spending money they dont have)

East End Park is a symbol of all that is DAFC.

Scotland doing it the hard way. Celtic going to go out, and Arsenal v Olympiakos going to extra time! Typical Scotland

Well no 1 has worked out, Celtic were humiliated by Copenhagen. Did they think they were going to roll over and die like the diddy teams in Scotland? Celtic seemed to be clueless.

Looks like Celtic will have to console themselves with spanking a load of diddy teams on their way to a quadruple treble.

Fans could hardly wait to get out after the second goal went in. Best fans in the world though. Follow their team through thick and thick.

Europe will always be the acid test for Rangers and Celtic. Brendan Rogers failed miserably to produce anything and it looks like Neil Lennon is doing likewise.

Celtic fans will no doubt console themselves if it's Rangers that they deny a CL spot to.

An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
Isn't it ironic, don't you think?
