He may look young but when sold by the Rangers Chelsea have looked after him as he is a great talent.

It's worked out well for him in that he's gone to Chelsea at a good time with a manager willing to give young players a go.He's clearly talented enough but let's hope Chelsea don't revert to type when their transfer ban is lifted as it's been a bit of a graveyard for young players in the past.

Transfer ban was lifted before the last window and they didn't sign anybody so who knows what will happen going forward. A great prospect for Scotland.

He was very good. Hugely intelligent footballer, especially for someone his age. Calm and composed on the ball, found pockets of space so well and his passing was spot on.

If Gilmour can play in the Chelsea 1st team he can easily make CM in the Scotland team!

Yeah - Chelsea would give Scotland a good skelping. It's more does Gilmour fit in with the style/tactics that Clarke is looking to play? I've not watched enough Scotland games recently to comment - and midfield is an area where we have a few decent players..

Shame he ain't in the chelsea first team as a centre half, or a striker!

Clarke had better override this 2hen the full squad is announced like he did with Soutar. I'd have him ahead of the likes of McLean easily. Gilmour, McSauce and Mcginn could be a lethal midfield going forward

If the English media hyped up an 18 year old with 1 premier league start, the way that so many Scots are, the same Scots would be slaying them for it. He’s done well in the 2 games last week, but he wasn’t too impressive v Man Utd in the league cup and I don’t remember the same rave reviews when he played against lower league opposition earlier in the season.

There’s no doubting he seems to have a great deal of talent. But to suggest an 18 year old is now ready to be thrown in at that top level in a high pressure situation like this playoff, based on 2 good games, seems way over the top.

I've just seen an interview with him.

1 He says he's 5' 7'', not 5' 4'' as per the fans' song about him.
2 When he was growing up his favourite player was Iniesta.
3 His favourite Scottish dish is 'Haggis, neeps and tatties' but, when pressed, he didn't know what 'neeps' actually were!

Maybe Scottish education is going downhill right enough.

Wee Eck he is living in England, neeps down there aren’t turnip, there turnip is a big onion sized veg that’s mostly white with purple top, definitely not something our dads used to hollow out at Halloween.
