Is this 'official' in any way or just some punter's idea? It has a touch of class about it sadly lacking in most football strips.

Maybe change the thin black stripes to red to take away the st mirren effect, would do away with the fading at the bottom but looks a decent effort.

What makes it a “St Mirren kit” or have a “St Mirren effect”?

I’m the owner of that account, I’m on instagram too and shared it there as well. The strip was made by c.p.designer. He has an account on both Instagram and twitter 😊🏁

TL, for me it's a "st Mirren kit" when its thick black and white stripes but black is the dominant colour for the strip as a whole (collar, under arms etc). 16-17 and 18-19 have followed that trend in recent years.

Why don’t they reverse this years kit to white with black pinstripes, use the black one as the away kit, and the yellow as the third, that would save the club a whole load of cash that they do not have,

Some clubs are already taking pre orders for next season's kits. Can we do likewise?

Genuinely flummoxed by this post. New strips will have been designed and ordered months ago. More importantly, we make money from selling new strips to fans. It's why clubs come out with 2 or sometimes 3 new strips every year.

No idea why you think NOT selling close on 1000 strips next year will save us money. 🤔

Get back to the 60's style, no other team could replicate that one. It's DAFC. No other

"More importantly, we make money from selling new strips to fans. It's why clubs come out with 2 or sometimes 3 new strips every year."

I've never understood that argument. When strips lasted two seasons and wr used to alternate between a new home and a new away each year, I often bought a new jersey. As soon as we went to new sets of home and away each year (with the occasional third kit) I stopped buying them except if they were reduced to a tenner at the end of the season and I needed a new shirt for fives. I'm not spending the amount of money they want for a kt that is only worn for a season but I'd be tempted to buy one per year if they were going to be used for 2 seasons.

Complely appreciate your personal stance on that Kelty, however I think the overall numbers show that 2 new kits every year make more cash for the club. Hence the reason almost every professional club does it. Having taken my kids along to a few open days recently, the buzz generated amongst kids for the new kit is significant, even if all the old farts don't want to buy them every year. 😉

Financially it makes sense to do 2 new every year, I presume most kits are sold to under 16s, would be interesting to see the breakdown.
As I am over the age to be playing for the team I feel no need to buy a strip however I buy my son both full kits every year, which he will grow out of.

What the situation on this years strips, could they not offer a preorder system to help cash flow as presumably they can’t be produced at the moment.

Are we still with Joma?

The whole buying of strips argument is a daft one. Everyone is different. Some folk buy them all as a collection, some occasionally, some just the home etc. For me personally, I just buy the home ones if I really like it.

Falling in to the ‘auld fart’ category :) I find it difficult to let go one of my strongest affinities with the club. For me, that isn’t just Halbeath Road, my seat in the south stand or Jimmy Shand’s polka - it’s the colours the team play in; and my strongest affinity is with the 60’s black pin stripe - because that was the colours we played in when I became a pars fan. Can’t change.

In my lifetime, teams such as Airdrie, Celtic and Hibs (to name a few) have not deviated (much) from the strips they wore when I first saw them. I, personally, can’t help wishing for that.

Just my tuppenceworth.

Your mileage may vary.

Posted this link on another thread but reposting here to show a photo of Orlando Pirates' strip this season. They are one of South Africa's two top supported teams. Pars fans who favour 1960s style candy stripes might like this strip. Pirates normally play in black https://www.soccerladuma.co.za/news/articles/local/categories/soweto-derby/orlando-pirates-to-make-changes-for-kaizer-chiefs/666911 and https://www.piratesshop.co.za/shop/2019-20-home-kit/home-kit-jersey

As for the mock up - While I too prefer Pars to play in candy stripes we have played in thicker stripes in many years. See http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Scottish_Football_League/Dunfermline_Athletic/Dunfermline_Athletic.htm

All down to personal taste I guess, I’m not a fan of that Orlando Pirates strip and like the mock up on original thread, just get rid of the trying to be fancy bit at the bottom.

While I generally prefer thinner stripes I do think the mock up with thicker stripes is excellent.

Italian Serie B club Pescara have adopted a six-year-old fan's design for their new strip

Sorry, link doesn't seem to work.

We couldn't do candy stripes every year, it'd not sell. We'd then inevitably get criticism from fans for not changing it and keeping it the same!

Regardless the whole process of getting a new kit will be done by now, it would've been done by late last year most probably.

Absolutely loving the Pescara strip. A football playing dolphin showing solidarity with the LGBTQ community. The pinnacle of football strip design has been reached.

The new Korea away kit is a close 2nd.

I would like to see "Thank You NHS" on the strip similar to what Hibs have planned for next season, Indeed I think all teams should have this on their strip.
