Yes, really good guy, if it wasn't for 2 horrible injuries that cost him best part of 2 seasons at a crucial stage of his career. Will be nice to hear his thoughts.
Will sign up monday- is that possible?

In all seriousness Ryan Williamson is the only player I have seen in the last 30 years who looked like he could play for Scotland, apart from Jackie McNamara. Those injuries he had were awful, and it's really unfortunate the way it's worked out for him

Yes, without a doubt he would have kicked on, it's a crucial age to miss out on playing, I think he is signed at partick for another year, so I hope it picks up for him.

Sorry to miss today's game: hope everything ok.
On a different tack, I agree with Red Star: think those injuries to Ryan were most unfortunate. From what I've seen of him -- very decent bloke. Hope it works out for him in the future.

He played U 19 and U21 for Scotland, but for the lay offs would have gone to a much higher level, his contemporaries would have two years of experience ahead of him, at that age is massive.
Would be great to see him get a decent career.

Ryan is indeed a "very decent bloke." I had the pleasure of working with him for several years on the Pars school visits. When he turned up at Park Road PS, Royth for his debut I said to him that he looked like he hadn't long left school.
"I'm still at school," he replied. He was understandably nervous but he went on to become a very accomplished speaker and his determination to overcome his horrible injuries was palpable.
A lesser mortal would have chucked it.
Not your average Sunday League player.

Capped by Scotland under 21s in 17/18 which was after each lay off. I like Ryan but to say he'd have played for scotland had it not been for either injury is just laughable.

Agree AB loyal. Nice enough guy though.
I would agree that those injuries had an adverse effect on his career, you could see it in how he played against similar aged players with more experience and were clearly far more streetwise. It was like time stopped from that first injury and he forever looked like that raw 17 year old which is sad. after bad injuries it can make players reluctant to go for 50-50’s etc as even subconsciously you don’t want a repeat.
But scotland? C’mon guys
Just sitting here drenched in my own negativity!

Might be a bit of a stretch but Ryan did look to have huge potential prior to his first injury. Terrified the life out of defenders when he attacked down the wing.
What you've got to remember is that we've got Tierney and Robertson at left-back and he was clearly never going to be in that league. However, our current right-back is Stephen O'Donnell of Killie. Is he really light years ahead of where Ryan Williamson might have been without the two massive injuries?

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

I don't see how anyone can say for sure whether Ryan Williamson would or would not have gained a full international cap if he hadn't suffered these two serious injuries. Different players develop at different rates. How many Pars' fans would have predicted Lawrence Shankland would win a full cap after watching him play for us on loan a few seasons ago - and he hasn't suffered any serious injuries?

How true. There is nothing that boy doesn't know about football.
I wasn't saying he would have played for Scotland for sure, but the potential was there. Like I say the only other homegrown product I thought that about was McNamara, although I also told Barry Nic he would play for Scotland and he laughed in my face
