The major talks involving the The Scottish Government Minister for Public Health and Sport Joe Fitzpatrick took place yesterday.
They continue in a fortnight.
Football was represented by SFA Chief Ian Maxwell and SPFL Boss Neil Doncaster. There was expert opinion from National Clinical Director Prof Jason Leitch.
They have the ammunition that the Westminster Government gave Rugby League a handout of £16m.
The Scottish Government is well aware that Football brings hundreds of millions into our economy. They also heard from Scottish Rugby and Racing at the conference call.

I'd rather see any funds that are notionally available given to the NHS etc. in Scotland as a clearer priority.

Football has to continue, as does sport, as does business etc.
But of course, timing is crucial.
We are starting to talk properly now about the consequences of this lockdown, and having an adult conversation as part of this.
Life is about assessing risk, and it's the politicians job to make a decision having weighed up the opinions of experts.
Business has to open up gradually, and this must include sport.
The NHS staff are extremely capable and dedicated professionals, but life continues and like everything else, at some point we learn to live alongside danger- we will have this conversation, so don't flame me.
If this means having to isolate over 70s (and that would be truly awful) for much longer to reduce numbers, so be it.

Me too. Football really isn't that important in the scheme of things.

This. Very simplied response to just say, give it to the NHS when businesses, the economy, football revenue etc etc are entertwined.

The Scottish Government have paused the allocation of funds from their equally safe fund from June to end of 2020. The fund is a £6m fund for Scotland's strategy for preventing and eradicating violence against women and girls.
With lockdown resulting in a massive increase in domestic abuse this is the worst possible time to remove that funding and some charities will cease to exist as a consequence at a time when they are most needed.
To provide a bailout to the utterly corrupt Scottish game and one that is the source of so many of Scotlands ills (primarily linked to 2 clubs) when funding decisions like that are made would be in very bad taste indeed.
