Thought I'd start this thread as more of a theoretical bit of fun. Dundee United announce the following players have been released; Osman Sow, Rakish Bingham, Paul Watson, Sam Wardrop.
Not sure what other championship teams have done just yet or whether we'll be in a position to sign any of these players given the pandemic but would you take any of them or what other players/positions would you hope to add to the team that maybe lacked from the past season?

Paul Watson is decent, was in championship team of the year. A lot of United fans very surprised he was released

The magic money tree to produce funds to sign out of contract players when we have no idea when competitive leagues with spectators might resume ?

Sow looked like a decent player when he was at Hearts a couple of years ago, then at United it was like watching a different player entirely; didn't look interested and miles off the pace.

Would bite your hand off for Paul watson. If Sow couldn’t be arsed at Utd I can’t see him putting a shift in at east end.

I wonder if the large number of released players that emerge from these dark times will share the fun and enjoyment of being unemployed ?

Greg Kiltie and Dom Thomas, I think, are both out of contract. Both would be excellent additions.
We’re up against it next season for automatic promotion with Dundee and Hearts both in the league.

I thought both still had another year left on their desks at Killie?

Would love us to get Don Thomas on a two year deal. He's an excellent player.

I thought both Kiltie and Thomas were under contract with Killie for another season?
With regard to signings there could be an opportunity in these uncertain times to steal a march on other clubs by approaching players early who might normally hang off waiting for a better offer but it would be a bit of a gamble. If other clubs do that successfully we could be left in the lurch. It's an added dimension to the transfer window this season.

Strange that these two weren't playing for Killie, a different standard.
Would be doing well in a fantasy future to get them.

Would take Thomas over Kiltie.
Watson was good at United, he would strengthen us

Tin hat on here but was never overly impressed with Killie. Good player and someone I’d definitely take but I’d sooner have Thomas. I think he suits us a lot better.

^^ agree.
Watson isn't any better than what we currently have, all 4 id say no to.
without knowing whats going to happen with out of contract players we need to replace the loanees who have departed, cant think of many in the Championship id take though.

There will also be plenty English league 1 and 2 players, clubs won't pay anything like they have been done there.
Serious talks about wage ceilings there.

You can also take your persistent snide observations and reciprocate the compliment.
Have a nice day.
