There was a section on the podcast today "Price of football" (A really good listen on a Monday and Thursday that really goes behind the scenes on the game) about us today! Mainly about the 1 players that were let go, although they agreed it was more than likely the right thing to do. Also a mention for the sold out whiskey lol!

Will need to give it a listen. I'm not up to date with the podcast yet - having only heard about it fairly recently - but it tends to be very interesting.

I did a calculation comparing the admission price when I was a teenager in the late 1960's with modern day walk up charges.

Back then the adult price was 1/80 of the average working man's weekly wage - which means you'd need to earn £1600 a week nowadays to retain parity, based on a current £20 adult entrance charge.

Somethings are comparitively cheaper now - not many I suspect though.

Dad told me the first TV set he bought in 1950s was £70 - few years later they were under £50.................still only one channel, and black and white !!!

I remember when BBC the only channel closed down on late Sunday afternoons and then would start up again in the evenings. Plus for younger readers no morning TV, we had lunchtime which stopped about 1.30 only to start again about 4.50pm.

I don't mind that being played at EEP - preferred Auchermuchty's finest.

When I started watching football it was 2 potatoes and a brontosaurus leg to get in - now it’s just an arm and a leg

Just before Andy Wilson left us to go to Middlesbrough in 1921, and we would play Cowdenbeath in front of a 18,000 crowd ,your match day experience only cost a tanner.

That included your tram from Rosyth to Halbeath Road Dunfermline. It also paid for your beef dripping sandwich, your programme and admission.

The downside was being covered in the coal dust whipped up from the terracing by the wind.

That's what I call a membership scheme 😁 Don't see the attraction for dripping though.
