Is there anyone that sticks out as being absolutely outstanding on loan.

Stevie Crawford from Hibs
Alan McGregor from Rangers

Tried to make a whole team, we would be good going forward but McGregor would be busy in goals, as he was during his season here!

McGregor

Beadling Rutkiewicz Grondin

Hamill Cochrane Glass Thomas

O'Brien

Crawford Keena

Subs: Gallacher, Murphy, Vincent, Kiltie, Anderson, Afolabi

Was BMMMH not initially a loan signing along with Rutkiewicz?

I'd say they've been the 2 of the most influential loan signings we've had in recent times.

Hardie was a free agent, I initially had him in, Stephen Glass would be an upgrade on Vincent.

All of the best ones have been mentioned. A wee shout for Jim O'Brien though.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

Robert Thomson. Would have liked to have seen us sign him permanently at one stage or another.

ETA: Wasn't even a loan deal, talking complete drivel.

Can anyone remember when the loan system was introduced? Am I right in thinking that it only applied to goalies initially?

I don't recall Stephen Glass being that great at all. The odd decent appearance but fairly underwhelming.

Does anyone know what happened with Tomas Danilevičius that we got from the Arsenal youth set up? He barely kicked a ball with us but then went on to have a nomadic but fairly succesful career especially in the lower leagues of Italy and also became Lithuania's top goalscorer at international level.

Seemed to be viewed as having some promise but it never seemed to happen for him here.

He made his debut and then was hooked at half time the next week, possibly away at Killie, but i don't remember him being particularly poor to be honest.

Yeah I think I might have seen his debut thinking he was tall and fast. Didnt do anything great but didnt seem terrible then disappeared back to Arsenal who punted him.

Bit harsh on Wheelan that one. He was clearly broken and doing his best to save his career but the damage was done. We've had way worse than him.

Paul Gallagher was initially a loan as was Alex Burke. Brad Mckay was fairly solid when he came in on loan for half a season. Paul McMullan was excellent and Bruce Anderson was decent.

It wasn't even 25 minutes, sure it was 5 or 6 minutes on his debut at home to Hearts and he was finished after that. To be fair it wasn't the worst signing in the world at the time. He done fairly decent at Aberdeen and Livi from memory.

I was pretty sure it was only 3 minutes before he got injured. It was a real pity as he was a decent player in his day. I see Danilevicius is now the President of the Lithuanian FA

did he not get injured playing as a trialist the Tuesday night before but they signed and played him anyway out of desperation basically?

He had been injured a fair bit but he had done pretty well at other clubs as FBLH says. Rolled the dice on him and unfortunately it didnt pay off.
