Was a product of the Forth Valley youth system, even tho he came through at Falkirk, Alloa is part of that set up too, with him being under 23 a fee has to be paid despite being out of contract...

Does anybody know if this goes to the youth academy itself and how much this fee with be?

Received this shortly before he was signed from a pal in the media: “He's very remorseful for it and been keen to move on. He definitely saw Alloa as a chance for redemption and he'd be the first to say it was terrible what he did.”

We love Dunfermline We do!

he was 19 and while we were apoplectic at the time (playing for them made it worse) he was a young boy he apologised almost immediately after the game unlike the other one so that's it we move on.
he plays for the Pars now and as long as he gives his best that's all that matters now surely?
as has been said we all did daft, crazy thing's when we were young but you learn form that (well some do in my case where football was concerned i never did lol)
and think before you make any silly misjudgements in future.

welcome to the Pars.

Happy to give the boy a chance here, half as good as Nesbit and that will do.

Imagine being treated like an actual criminal for saying daft heat of the moment words on a football pitch. Not as if he’s a convicted sex pest or something. People seriously need to get a grip of themselves. It’s genuinely embarrassing. I’ve done and said plenty of stuff as a young man which was way worse and I’m sure a lot of you have too. Why should it stop you getting work? Cringe cringe cringe!!

Amazed to read all the Falkirk fans on twitter taking the moral high ground considering it was a section of their support chanting and throwing the eye balls onto the pitch. Proud of my club for not holding a grudge and giving him another chance.

Unlike Hippolyte he has apologised.

We move on.

He is 22 next month,a lot more mature, the slate is wiped clean and I look forward to him being as big a handful to opposition defences as he was against us.

There will be no lack of ammunition with Ryan Dow and Dom Thomas involved.

I agree, though I'm not sure who 'you lot' refers to, as nobody on this thread seems to disagree with that view.

What happened back then was really poor and there's no getting away from that, but I'm sure most of us have said or done things in the past, including things that caused pain to other people, that we now feel embarrassed or even ashamed about. I certainly have.

It's absolutely wrong to define anybody only by their bad bits. Being a fanny a few years ago does not make someone the scum of the Earth, and especially so if it's now accepted that that wasn't on. He should be accepted like any other new player.

I can't confess to paying alot of attention to him last season but his goals and assists look impressive.
The incident previously goes without saying was disgraceful but I'm sure he feels daft about it and there is no need to cover old ground. He was punished - end of story.
The 3 year contract is a bit of a strange one and seems a bit of a leap of faith and out with our normal business in recent seasons but will put faith in the management on that one.

That would be with a view to selling him on two years down the track.

A couple of years under the tutelage of SC will improve his game dramatically, much as Kevin Nisbet blossomed the longer he played with us. It's a win-win for both the player and the club.

Why on earth does he need to start his career having to give an apology to the fans .?

He already did this to the person he insulted and it was accepted

He apologised that evening after the game and I believe someone on another thread advised he attended a disability awareness course or something along those lines also. He was also punished by the SFA and accepted and served his ban. Clearly a young guy caught up in the derby passion and it boiled over like it does for countless other young (an some not so young) in the stands every week.

Don't remember the same level of outrage when we signed Fraser Aird despite him being a known bigot who shows no remorse for his actions and instead of growing up and educating himself was still attending Old Firm games making obscene gestures and attending 'sash bashes'. Or even when we signed our previous captain Paton who was done for assaulting Celtic players at a player of the year event. Let's not forget we had to endure the numbnuts in the corner singing homophobic slurs almost weekly for a whole season also. So is sectarian bigotry and homophobic abuse from grown men acceptable to our fan base but we won't give a young man who made one mistake a chance to make it up to us? Hypocrites.

You commented in that thread so you were well aware of the negative responses which makes your defensive attitude even more strange. You have a habit of spinning everything that's said into a massive negative and try to come across as the great defender of all things DAFC even when there is no apparent need for it. Makes you look extremely silly. Should maybe take more time to read the comments carefully before you reply with cleverly thought out sarcastic responses that backfire.

Good luck Kevin I hope you win over the doubters and kick on, you deserve a second chance in your career.

Ok moving down a level to semi professional after not being offered a contract to stay with Falkirk then being given an opportunity to come back to that full professional level doesn't constitute a second chance...

Hopefully this second opportunity for him gives him the platform to show why Crawford has such faith in him. And as I said, shows a good level of character to come here and face his past when many would have taken an easier option. Pleased to see our board willing to give the lad a second chance in his career when other signings would possibly have been easier to sanction also.

Calling it a "second chance" is a bit of a stretch.

I've heard the term used when players have spent time in prison then returned to football.
Been banned for drug taking then returned.

Never have I heard the term used for someone who moved to a club playing at a higher level than his previous club then moving on to another club in the same division.
