Great interview and the hour long format gives more time to embellish stories either known or unknown.
One thing I didn't know was that it wasn't the onfield thing that resulted in Jim stepping down as manager in his second spell but rather it was the beginning of his wife's illness which sadly took her later on.
It was generally accepted that poor results were to blame but I did remember that the EEP dressing room was in tears when he told the players so that makes all sense now.
Still bitter about 1990 and rightly so. He was only 40, had increased our attendances from less than a thousand to an average of more than 10000 by the end of the decade and proved to his doubters he was more than just a figurehead by taking Livvy to Europe from obscurity.
Jim is a living legend.

In my eyes he will always be Mr Dunfermline.

Good point, AdamAntParsStripe, Jim is often pigeon holed as some kind of comedy motivator but his managerial record speaks for itself. To get one team from the bottom tier to the top league is impressive but to repeat the trick...

I often had debates with fellow fans who said it wasn't Jim but the number two who deserved the accolades but that's some coincidence Jim appointed three number twos who were better than him in succession. 🤔

Including one that took over his job at EEP and we all know what happened after that.

Yes. It just proved the point that being a great coach doesn't make you a great manager.

Indeed Mr Dunfermline I often wonder how far we would have went if he had been kept as manager in 90. The club were on the verge of something big. There was magic in the air, big Jim had the whole town bouncing you could hear the roar from East End all over the town.

Brian Clough , Martin O'Neil exactly the same , very rarely involved in training ,even Sir Alex Ferguson in his Man u days let his assistant take all the training.
