He was born in Barrow so returning home for him. A good signing for them I would say.

Sure the Pars played a friendly against them for the “switch on” of their new floodlights back in the sixties? 7-0 for us I think.

Could be wrong, but I think their "new" lights came from EEP.

Doubt if we'd beat them 7-0 now. Might not even beat them!

The lower league English teams have come up and Scottish teams have lost ground. Did we not struggle against a low league English team the year before last. If Tom Beadling's playing for them they are obviously not a bad outfit. Fact of life, the likes of Scottish first division outfits would need to be up for it to beat them.

Too much happy clapping early on can lead to great disappointment if things don't go well from day one. Keep the powder dry.

Very true... But the English lower leagues getting better and scottish leagues losing ground isn't exactly a recent thing. It happened a long long time ago. Still... There's always hope.
Without hope... What's the point? 🤔

Yes widtink but someone higher up the thread was quoting a 7-0 victory in the 60's when we were rubbing shoulders with Everton, Valencia and West Brom. I think we have all revised our aspirations since then.

Jings, we even beat the reigning European champions on their own ground.

'Did we not struggle against a low league English team the year before last.'

There's a high chance that was much more to do with our shockingly bad squad assembled by AJ the imposter rather than them being a decent side.

We played Boreham Wood and it was up there with the worst games I've ever seen. It was awful.

Wait....so it doesn't mean they're all brilliant and we're perennially p*sh? I'm shocked I have to say....

Paralex - you are remembering that Beadling struggled to get a game for us? I’m not sure what basis you have for saying English lower league teams are getting better?

Maybe I'm just in denial that a team that once beat the reigning European champions has found a level so far below that but hopefully not.

Hope he kicks on at Barrow in League 2, we signed him off the back of a terrific loan spell in our playoff push. He was never able to really recapture that form consistently. He was superb in the celtic cup tie last season, but unfortunately in the league season he never showed that ability enough. Maybe he struggled since he wasn't naturally trained as a central midfielder? In any case there's a player in there somewhere and maybe a move elsewhere will help him progress.

Similar with Joe Thomson who was probably our best player in a terrible team and had a horrific injury and never looked the same for us, maybe because he didn't have a preseason? Crawford has wiped most of the slate clean, really only a couple guys left from the AJ era

Did we not get beat 4-0 by Tranmere a couple of years ago when they were in League 2 or Conference?

^same season as Borehamwood albeit a pre season friendly. Same garbage squad and inept clown in the dugout.

It never really worked out for him with us. He came with lots of promise. Maybe he will be more comfortable in familiar surroundings. Good luck to him

Good luck, he needs to find his level first, then kick on.

Before he came here it was U23 all his career, that's no use, with us it was stress injuries, so if he can work on that, maybe he can kick on

We did well enough from him, but nowhere near re signing.

All the best to him. He didn't really kick on last season, I expected himto be a mainstay in the midfield but he was fairly out of the picture for the majority. I think there is a really good player there but injuries and inconsistent form plagued his time with us.

Awight Pat!

A video to show what he can do and don't show probably the biggest moment of his life: scoring an equaliser against treble treble champions.

Please don't refer to them as that on a Pars forum. They are called Celtic. None of this bending the knee in awe of them p!sh.

Most ex-Pars' players who tried their luck down South - Falkingham, Cardle, Craigen, Hippolyte - ended up in the National League and none of them set the heather on fire so I would say League 2 is a step up. They probably pay better wages than the Scottish Championship too.

Ben Richards-Everton and Jackson Longridge moved to the 'big' league but JL has struggled to establish himself.

Didn’t make the grade for us so has moved on and found a club in League two in England. Good luck to him and hopefully he might get some game time but I hardly think it’s a step up

We are looking to build a team for the Premier league
