Scott Burns tweeted saying:

@officialdafc are closing in on the permanent signing of @acciesfc keeper Owain Fon Williams. The Welsh internationalist was on loan at East End Park last season. @ScotExpress and @Record_Sport #pars #dunfermlineathletic

I am happy with that. Welcome back, Owen.

Fon Williams

Comrie Watson Murray Martin

Whittaker

Dow Wilson Thomas

McManus O'Hara

Subs (from):

Gill Swinton Lang Edwards Bragg Bowman Todd Turner Berry Allan McCann McGill

That should be close to a starting line-up and on paper, it looks pretty strong for this division. The subs bench, however, looks light. I suspect Stevie will now be looking to farm out two or three of those lads and bring in some loans with a bit more experience.

As things stand, we are well advanced in terms of having our line-up in place for the new season compared to most others (especially QOS, who have only three players on their books).

Gotta say if we strengthen our bench this will be a season to remmember.

Would be happy enough with this. Bench looking very bare though unless some of the young lads really kick on this season. Possibly a little light in natural centre mids and wingers also but the potential starting eleven above does look decent.

Scott Burns was the lad that reported the Mcmanus deal and we had secured O'Hara on a 3 year deal a good 4 or 5 days before it happened.

Agreed tho, a few loanees closer to the time to strengthen the bench and we're good to go.

Think we may sign another midfielder permanently as we look light in the middle of the park still, probably loan a few of the youngsters out I'd imagine, then strengthen ourselves using the loan market as Crawford has alluded to. It's a shorter season so having strength on the bench and getting off to a great start is key.

Our strongest first 11 is looking very useful but as said, we need to strengthen over the whole squad with a couple of very decent loan signings to cover on the bench.
I'd imagine some up and coming Premier league players might be just what we need there.

If you only turn up to moan then do it elsewhere

from the keepers available there isnt a standout, whether OFW is the best of those remains to be seen but at least its another position sorted and done. the longer it went on the club might have had to think out of the box so to speak which would be more of a gamble when its the one position you dont really want to gamble with.

for the rest of the squad we are a central midfielder and a wide player short of what we had at the end of last season, if we can get those in whether its permanent or loans without moving anyone out first then great, anything beyond that is a bonus.

Danny Rogers signs for Killie after a successful trial, so that certainly cuts down the options.

OFW must have enjoyed being here. The painting was a valuable way of helping us. Hopefully he becomes our player and not a 6 month loan.

We shouldn't just gloss over this signing. OFW is easel(y) good enough for this division. Masterpiece of a signing, we're really primed for next season now, and ready to roller the opposition.

In terms of the abstract Scottish football landscape, one can sense a renaissance occurring at East End Park as manager Stevie Crawford crafts a mosaic that will eventually become his squad to challenge for this season’s league title.

The general view is that he’s creating quite a fresco.

The sale of poster boy Kevin Nisbet to Hibernian released the funds necessary to buy several new and talented players, allowing Crawford to sculpt a side that is capable of engraving the club’s name on the Championship trophy.

Representational of this exciting expressionist approach is the signing of veteran Scotland international Steven Whittaker, who Pars fans hope will animate the midfield and encourage younger players to thrive. Fans are particularly keen to see the talented Kyle Turner prize open opposition defences with the searing passes everyone knows that he is capable of.

To illustrate the club’s commitment to promotion this year, Crawford is reported to be about to sign Welsh international goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams, who is a highly regarded commercial artist.

What is clear is that this is a portrait of a club with ambition. Still life has its ups and downs and Pars fans will be hoping that the only way is up this year.

My impression is he will start with a blank canvas.

Don't forget Turner was incensed by the Hay Wain but things may have calmed down now. Will he get on better with Owain?.

The intellectual standard on the PFF has markedly increased due to OzPar.

What next: Fans who can spell "definitely?"

Hopefully Font-Williams gets his angles right to make some good artist blocks and is not the architect of his own downfall.Would like him to go on and be the master of his craft and hopefully he avant-gardes the goal with his life , is solid as baroque and goes on to play many a binder.Don't want to see any daft brushing off his line and it will be a good contrast from recent times having a solid number one instead of a sketchy keeper.
If he is keeping clean sheets we should at least be guaranteed some draws which could result in elevation up the table and see us figure or in the frame at least with success on the horizon. He isn't under any illusion that it will be difficult and the middle ground won't be good enough .He is motifated to keep mistakes to a minimal and keep perspective.
I watched a montage of his best saves on his online profile and not much gets pastel him and he has good technique.Plenty of fans will buy his replica kit and doing rococo-cokey if we got his signature.Even at 33 there is still-life in him and I like his style. He looked happy here before by the expression on his face.It would be surreal if we got him but gives the impression that we are chasing promotion.

Going to need two keepers I reckon anyway, no chance Cammy will want another season on the bench at his stage, he’ll either look to get out on loan( the clubs situation meant he was prevented from doing so last season ) or quite possibly he’ll try to negotiate a termination.
Have to feel for the boy he’s really stuck here.

the clubs situation last season?

i dont see Gill staying next season if he isnt playing most of the season but to go now with that in mind any deal would have to be best for the club financially basically. finding a genuine no1 is tricky but a no2 wouldnt be that hard if he did go this summer imo.

I would infer that obiwanyouknowme on 30th July at 1345 summed up the situation succinctly.

Especially As Owain is not mentioned in the new Hamilton Accies squad.
