DASC & DASC DONATION SHOP OBITUARY.
Topic Originator: steaua
Date:   Thu 30 Jul 19:56

It is with great sadness that we advise that Kenny Cowan our former Chairman and close friend has passed this morning in Queen Margaret Hospital. Kenny was a great DASC man and would have done anything for anyone. He was also a Pars stalwart and was a great worker for the Pars. . We are all devastated with this sad news today and our thoughts are with his two sons Derek and Duncan.

I echo all of the above - the lifeblood of our club is supporters like Kenny. Stick with the club through good times and through bad, and when things get really bad, do something to make it better. That’s the essence of such people, and their passing leaves a void that is hard if not impossible to fill. Thanks for everything Kenny - May you rest easy.

I knew Kenny for 30 years. He was the chairman of the supporters club at that time and I was Secretary of the Alloa Branch. He was a true fan and his name on this forum was so true. I was delighted when Shona and I went on Fridays to Marvs to meet him again and reminisce about the great times of our club. I know Kenny would be over the moon with our new signings. RIP Kenny.

Me and my pal used to get the official supporters bus in the mid 80s that left from EEP. We were just bairns & Kenny was always there at the front of the bus ticking your name off the list with a big smile on his coupon. RIP Kenny

Really sad news. First met Kenny when I used to go on the Kelty supporters club bus as a young boy. Had the pleasure of chatting to him over many years. A great Pars fan and a real gent. R.I.P Kenny.

So sorry to hear of Kenny Cowan's passing. I first met him in the 1980s. His dedication and contribution to the Pars over many years will not be forgotten. Very good words from parfection who sums up the feelings of many of us.

RIP Kenny

I was speaking to Kenny only a couple of weeks ago in connection with his role as our Disability Access Officer. He was as optimistic as ever about the season ahead and was enthusing about our recent signings. I was truly shocked and saddened when I heard the news of his passing yesterday. Kenny was Pars through and through and was extremely proud to have represented his beloved club in an official capacity. RIP.

Kenny was a Pars supporter through and through, and was involved in so many supporter initiatives over the years, as people are remembering on this thread.

Right from the start of efforts to provide wheelchair access to the 1st Floor suites at East End Park, Kenny was there to provide support and encouragement, and in practical terms his knowledge of building regulations was invaluable. And I know how immensely proud he was to become DAFC's Disability Access Officer, he just enjoyed being able to help his fellow fans.

Most importantly, he was a truly lovely man - larger than life in build but also in his generosity and positive nature, despite being mostly confined to a wheelchair in recent years. He will be missed by us all, and even more so by his family.
