If he scores in another couple of games I think he will be in for the Israel game in September.

Griffiths isn't going to get near the Celtic team. Naismith won't have played any games.

Sell on fee is 30% with an add on which includes for amount of goals scored and Hibs league finish. Could a real cash cow if he hits high teens! Said it all along , he’s miles better than Shankland!

Totally agree, he's a far better all round player than Shankland imo. I also think Crawford deserves a lot of credit for his development, he improved greatly as last session progressed.

He's a natural goalscorer. Perhaps his last two clubs have just helped him to develop the confidence he needs. For sure there will be all sorts of financial clauses including Scotland appearances. Signing him was great business for the club. He has reaped the benefit also. Good luck to him. Just what player development is all about.

It’s an amazing advert for us also. Players will begin to look at Dunfermline as a potential stepping stone to bigger and better things when they see Nisbet and hopefully others going from strength to strength. That works for us and works for the players

He was clearly a handful for championship defences with his positional sense and eye for goal. I was never convinced he had that extra sharpness to be a real top player though.
Delighted to see how he's doing though. The stars aligned when we picked him up last season. Rovers must have been spewing.

Easily be capped for Scotland, maybe not the next upcoming games but if he keeps firing the goals in. Who else have we actual got? Griffiths who isn't getting regular game time, Fletcher who is past it, Martin who is average and a lump.

They were talking about it on the Sportscene Results show, there's no reason he couldn't be capped for Scotland this year, Shankland was capped and he was a championship player..yes a few more goals than Nisbet, but he's proving his worth already at Hibs, 3 goals n 2 assists in 2 games.

All this speculation about the deal we negotiated with Hibs is very interesting but do we know who recommended we should sign him in the first place? Was it all down to SC? Was Jackie Mac involved? Did anyone know about the flaw in his contract which meant he was effectively a free agent?

We do also have Ollie Mcburnie, par 33 but to me he doesn't lead the line too well. There's also Laurence Shankland who has been in a recent squad. The Scotland squad is definitely lacking in quality in several positions and main central striker is one of them. Great to see Nisbet doing so well.

I’m amazed how privy some are to the details of the deal.

His biggest asset is his ability to play on his own up front.
His touch and composure to hold the ball up and lay it off at the correct times is invaluable
Whilst not a “natural” goalscorer, his finishing can be improved by putting the work in during the week.

Certainly has the potential to be a top player

I don't know the ins and outs of the deal, just that a paper stated a figure, which became perceived wisdom. In reality, the figure might not have been accurate.

I agree, gordi-b.

Nisbet is a different sort of striker to Shankland. He has a lot more to his game.

It is like comparing Stevie Crawford in his prime to Nicky Clark; they both score goals, but which one would you prefer in your side?

If Kevin continues to progress, which he should under Ross and Potter's guidance, then he'll prove to be a far more valuable player. A Scotland place should come his way too, before very long.

A couple of years at Easter Road (assuming they can hold on to him that long) and he will be playing in the English premiership.

And if that happens, it will be one hell of a payday for the Pars if that 25/30% sell-on fee proves to be correct.

Steady on boys before you all get too intoxicated by the pound signs, football can be dangerous game. He might break a leg next week and end his career like so many with great unfulfilled potential. Let's pin our hopes on our own management, staff and current crop of players.

Forgetting the pound signs, what s great prospect for the Scotland team.

My only hope is he doesn't end up at Celtic or Rangers. Would be far better off playing in England than at either of that pair.

He was 100/1 to score a hat trick yesterday.I had a think about it but opted for 14/1 to score a brace instead. I knew after the first 2 that he would get a third.

Still the same odds to do likewise in next game against Dundee Utd and 2/1 to score any time.

The real scope of his talent will be how he reacts to the fallow period all strikers go through. I expect the guidance of the Hibs management team will be a positive influence. The good thing is he must have any Hibs doubting supporters onside early.

I've no doubt whatsoever he can carve out a very good career.
It's not often at EEP I can see a player so out the box too good for us. The last time was Jackie and Kevin ticked all these boxes.
He's great in the air and on the ground, can hit a shot outside the box and has that instinct all good strikers have.

The goal which convinced me he had the ability to play at a much higher level was the one he scored in the 2-0 home win over Dundee United, which turned out to be his last for the Pars. His anticipation and movement to get onto the pass and then generate the power and accuracy to guide the header over the keeper were top-drawer.

Incidentally the 'Transfermarket' website states the fee Hibs paid us for his services was £280k.

He seemed to be playing wide on the left in the Motherwell game, not as the main striker. His touch is good when the ball comes to him but he hardly got a sniff of the ball and never looked like scoring. I thought our midfield played to him too much last season and that's one reason why he ended up with a good haul of goals. He may need to get himself into the game more in the premier league.
