Heard a lot of good things about him, it's always easier if you've already successfully dealt with another club during the window and I think he'd be a good option for us given we're light in midfield. He needs first team football and he'd certainly be able to compete for a place with us, would allow us to send our young midfielders out on loan too.

Would love it if this was true, young player I've kept an eye on since he absolutely ripped the bottom out of us one pre season.

Slightly short in midfield, would be good replacement for Whittaker , Wilson or Turner as they are our only options at the moment

a couple of other papers/media are running the story now too.

in terms of our own young midfielders Todd is the one that should go out on loan this season imo, id be happy if Allan stayed and was used as cover or got an opportunity.

He plays a totally different position to Whittaker, Wilson and Turner.
In the middle we at least have Todd and Allan as replacements, we have literally no one out wide once Dow and Thomas are deployed.

I’m not too keen on Tod.

We need another wide midfielder. We can’t expect Dow and Thomas to play every game for ninety mins or never pick up an injury. This lad looks like he fits the bill and would an excellent addition.

We also need another striker imo as it is the same with McManus and OHara, they will need a break from time to time and pick up the inevitable injury and we need another striker for these very reasons.

If we do fill these two positions with loan signings then as has been said by others we could loan out Todd and perhaps McCann.

what would be his main role here though i wonder, most of his limited appearances last season seem to be in the middle of the park in a 3 or basically as a number 10, if he could do a job wide and in the middle then that versatility is certainly a bonus....if he does sign.

Considering it sounds like we are more or less done with permanent signings, I'd love to see Afolabi back on loan to compete up front with Mcmanus and O'hara (Can see McGill/McCann heading out on loan for game time). Provides some physicality and pace (I believe he also just won RoI U19 player of the year) and he's already aware of the setup at the club and knows the coaching staff. We are also a bit further along than most other championship teams in terms of squad numbers so hopefully we can offer more assurances about game time etc. Certainly need to bolster ourselves up front and out wide for the strength of the squad.

He's a technical proficient right footed midfielder that displays decent pace on him.

Consider Stevie Crawford plays inverted wingers in Dom Thomas and Ryan Dow, he could be positioned on the left as back up to Thomas.

He would be too much of a liability to play in a two-man, because he is lacking in any sort of defensive guile.

If there were to be a three-man midfield of Iain Wilson and Steven Whittaker, then his best position would be as the attacking midfielder, because he posses a real eye for a pass.

Wide or behind the striker, he played against us in this pre season friendly https://dafc.co.uk/story.php?t=Dunfermline_0_Hibernian_4&ID=10051 and absolutely rinsed us, v good player.

Afolabi would be better going on loan at Blackpool beach with a carrot in front

Must admit I wasn't that impressed by him either. I watched him closely in 1 game and he seemed to get bullied and could only give it out by fouling and getting caught at it.
But what do I know? He's only young and might turn out to be a superstar. Somebody at Celtic clearly saw something in him and they know a lot more than me.

He did seem to go down too easily for my liking. I am sure he would soon learn that he would cause teams far more problems by trying to staying on his feet.

It's a pity that he is not a left back. I believe Celtic might be in need of one.

Just looked to see if there’s any updates on this on twitter... and seen a few people saying that he will go out on loan. Looks like we are the only team after him at the moment.

I don't get the stick for Afolabi, I thought he was alright, we certainly improved with him upfront rather than McGill.
He wasn't outstanding but I just don't get the stick.

i dont either then again id say the same for McGill...

another striker wont come in unless McGill or McCann leave on loan which you cant rule out but im not really expecting that at the moment.

Some folk seem to set incredibly high standards for players to meet. Not so long ago some were saying OFW would add nothing to the squad. This is a guy who has been capped and been to international tournaments with his country and has played at a higher level than we are currently at!

Looks like Dunfermline have won the race to secure Fraser Murray on loan. Should be finalised soon, the boy is keen to go out and play games and Stevie Crawford is keen to get him in the door. Could be a good move for both parties that
