Strong squad in defence and midfield, not so much in forwards or keepers

East End Park is a symbol of all that is DAFC.

McLaughlin and Marshall are both solid keepers imo. Goalkeepers have never been the issue in the national team. McCrorie will be 3rd choice and has been picked so that Steve Clarke can get a better look at him in training.

Definitely short up front but we knew that would be the case. Still not convinced McBurnie can do the business but willing to give him another chance unlike some. Lyndon Dykes offers something different at least. Shankland pick is a strange one considering he’s not really played for United this season.

Mon the pars!

Ryan Fraser hasn't played since January because Eddie Howe wouldn't pick him after he said he wouldn't be signing a new contract with Bournemouth.

It was only a short term contract wee eck but that is no excuse that he could not help his supposed mates to claw their way out of relegation
Architect of his own demise I suppose ..shame really he is a decent player

Ryan Fraser said he wasn't fit enough to represent the country SC said yesterday. Be interesting to see if Nisbet wasn't injured if he would had had a call from Scotland considering he's proving in the top league and backing up so far his form last year

c'mon the pars

Nisbet hasn't done enough to merit a call up. He's got a hatrick against Livingstone and failed to score in every other game he's played. He needs more tome yet, this year will be a big step up from where he's played at before, international level is even more of a rise.

He's at least played and scored at that level before.

Here's my pick.

McLaughlin
Tierney, Cooper, McKenna, Robertson.
Armstrong, McGregor, McGinn, Fleck.
Forrest, McBurnie.

Unfortunately Tierney and Robertson are both left backs and both in the same team might not work.

I only just realised that this Fridays game against Israel isn't the playoff for Euro 2020(2021). That's actually getting played in October.

Also agree it's too soon for Nisbet. With McBurnie and Shankland out we are even weaker in the forward area so he might have been worth a go.

Naismith would be worth a try if he has been keeping fit over the break. Even if you get 60 mins out of him for experience alone.

Can’t see how Naismith can be looked at for this match when their training just started and think he has had one friendly. Dykes up front maybe with Burke probably best options.

Naismith is way passed his sell by date in a national shirt and he's constantly crocked since he went to Hearts. Dykes has to start, I'd have started him with a full squad anyway. He's the exact type of striker that Clark will be looking for in his style of football.

I was thinking to myself the other day what had happened to Callum Paterson and lo and behold he has been called up due to the withdrawal of McBurnie and Shankland. Never knew he (Patterson ) played up top before
