Archie Gray ~ Very sad news
Topic Originator: buffy
Date:   Thu 3 Sep 20:20

From the DAFC Facebook page :

“Everyone at #DAFC was extremely saddened to hear the passing of loyal supporter and match day steward Archie Gray following a short illness.

Our thoughts are with Archie's family and friends during this difficult time.”

Absolutely devastated.
Rest in peace my friend 🌹

Used to play football with his grandson for many years when we were younger. I always thought they were a lovely family. I really hope Archie gets better. My thoughts are with him and his family.

Sure Archie made history many years ago now as the first person in Dunfermline to be brought back to life with a defibrillator.
My memory is a bit sketchy about it now so might not be completely accurate but I wish him a speedy recovery.

A very familiar face from the photo the club posted on the socials. What is it that Archie does around East End on match day, can't seem to remember but know the face.

Gutted seeing the news. Would always look out for the young boys on the Millers/Brucefield bus back in the Bertie Paton era. Some of my earliest and best memories of going to games include Archie. Thoughts with his family and friends

I remember being on a bus with him when I was a kid going to the scottish cup final vs celtic, everyone kept stealing and hiding his scarf, was brilliant laugh!

Rest easy

Archie would never let me pass by without a warm smile, a "how's it gaun" and a handshake. His younger brother, John, got me my first paper boy job, aged 11. 6 copies of the Evening Citizen, which I kept under my jacket while walking down the High St, in case I was arrested because I was too young.

John died a young man and another brother, Donald lost a son/daughter a few years ago. Really nice family but very unlucky.

RIP, Archie. I'll miss you at EEP.

Not your average Sunday League player.

Known the family for a very long time. Used to chat with Archie regularly in the passing as he stayed near the shop on Woodmill Road not sure if the family still stay theras this was almost 30 years ago.
A great man to chat with, for the life of me for some reason I have it in my mind as much as a pars fan Archie was his son was a blue nose.
RIP Archie

He was a stalwart of the brucefield bus back in 90s. He really looked after me and the lads who were silly wee 13-16 year olds at the time.

Had many a clip round the ear getting onto the bus late with the warning if it happened again we are leaving you behind, then a wee wink.

Top bloke will be missed.
