Topic Originator: OzPar

St Mirren have confirmed a SECOND player has tested positive for Covid-19.

It comes just a day after it was confirmed Buddies keeper Jak Alnwick tested positive for the virus earlier this week.

The goalie has been forced to self-isolate for 10 days alongside housemate and Hamilton star Lee Hodson, who will isolate for a fortnight.

Yup. Is that not why they’re isolating RA, to protect the community and reduce the risk of spread (to the elderly and frail)?

So what are you suggesting Rigger? Carry on as normal until the elderly and frail are no more? BTW I had a kidney transplant last year so add me to your list of elderly and frail.

Another BTW, atackes?

Not suggesting for a minute that this is the way for Scottish football to go but PSG were obliged to play Lens in Ligue 1 last night, with SEVEN players out.

On the contrary GG I think it's definitely the way to go if we want to finish the season.

Can you imagine any club agreeing to that, Grant? Especially the two big Glasgow clubs? One is desperate to get 10 in a row, the other is even more desperate to stop it. If they won't agree to it, it won't happen and trust me, they won't.

Yeah the SFA doesnt have the back bone for that but I think that would be the way to do it, up until the point a team literally cannot put 11 adult players plus say 3 subs, on the park.

They're trying to get a keeper in on loan apparently. They have a midweek game which their three keepers will also miss.

Seemingly this was only picked up on the test they required to complete for the mid week game against celtic (originally postponed due to their covid incident ) If the test had not happened the player would have played, which may have led to even more sever consequences.

Not that I want the league to be devalued by dozens of postponements, but it will be fascinating to see the ruling if either Celtic or Rangers face the same problem days before a critical Old Firm game ...

Please refer to my (probably prophetic) post further up, Stanza. 🙂

There's no way the SPFL would try to force the Sellick or Therangers to play in similar circumstances to St Mirren.

They’ll need to if it happens. If it had happened to Rangers or Celtic first then maybe they would have changed it since it was a specialised position but now that it’s happened to St Mirren they will need to apply the rules the same. Since the season began the clubs were told they would have to play their games even if they have players isolating. The only reason Aberdeen and Celtic didn’t play theirs was because the government said they couldn’t. The SPFL wanted the games played.

Can you imagine the bleating and bile emanating from the respective boardrooms, never mind their fans forums, if that were to happen, allparone? 🙂

Whoever went on to win the league, the title would be asterisked and forever tainted.....

Definitely lol. It’s never their own fault that they lose a title. Rangers are doing a good job of catching Celtic in the victim playing stakes.

😃

Yea, Gerrard was greeting about the tackle on Morelos, which saw him stretchered off, while Edwards got off Scot free. It was a bad tackle right enough and probably deserved a red card, but for Gerrard to suggest that it would have a resulted in a red card and an uproar if Morelos had been the perpetrator, was undignified bleating of the lowest kind.

Was Gerrard always a moaning kant, or has he learned to play the victim since he moved to Govan?
