Who will start tonight against Falkirk
Topic Originator: obiwanyouknowme

What’s people’s thoughts on starting 11?

For me

OFW
Comrie Watson Murray Edwards
Turner Whittaker Wilson
Dow O’Hara Thomas

No McInroy or Mayo as both away on international, Fraser Murray could even start ahead of Wilson just as much as McManus ahead of O’Hara

McManus to start? He looked our best bet for a goal on Tuesday night.

think it will be McManus for McInroy but it might depend on how long they think he can last, even with a few players unavailable they are not short of options.

we did the same on Tuesday and i think we are the only team do it, when you can list 9 subs in the cup this year im not sure why you wouldnt put 2 on there even if its highly unlikely youd need them.

Falkirk have assembled a pretty decent squad for League One, could be an early indication of how good a squad we have if we can put them to bed tonight.

All a bit disjointed at the moment, need to try keep the ball a bit and dictate play like Falkirk have been.

Edwards on the left has been a bit suspect.

How Keena didn’t score there is beyond me.

Shout out to Josh Edwards tonight, thought he defended very well (especially in the second half) against a decent winger in Morrison.

A comfortable win tonight. The defence held out very well and the midfield improved massively in the second half. We never game them a sniff after a few half chances in the first half. Delighted to finally get to watch Dunfermline again and feel optimistic for the new season.

I think it was a penalty wee eck. It evens itself out though as we had the ball over the line in the first half and were through on goal and wrongly flagged up for offside. As the handball debate is ongoing at the moment, this was always going to be a big talking point.

Deserved win, think the handball was a penalty under any handball rules. Good to see Secret Agent Durnan losing his man for our first goal.I must admit I was apprehensive going into tonight but delighted with that.

Would need to see the over the line incident again but McManus didn.t seem to claim at the time? In fairness to the linesman he had absolutely no chance of seeing that unless he had x-ray vision as Keena let it go right through him. There was a couple of bad offside decisions though.

First half I thought we started bright but never really took control of the game, very slack with our passing at times and long balls. We looked like a team that had 7 new players and they were trying to gel.

Falkirk had a really good 15mins and should’ve scored, was shouting at the telly for SC to change something, on another night Keena would’ve scored that sitter and that penalty would’ve been awarded and it’s a totally different ball game.

Edwards looked a bit suspect and rest of the team just looked a bit flat, weren’t getting the ball to Thomas enough and when it did he wasn’t getting as much joy as he would’ve liked.

Credit to the coaching staff and the players as second half we were sailing, really confident and comfortable on the ball and those deliveries from Thomas are going to be extremely valuable this season especially with Watson and Murray attacking the ball.

Edwards improved significantly as the game grew on. O’Hara lacked a bit of composure at times and for me should be putting away that one on one but it’s early days, he was getting into exactly the right positions which is encouraging.

As for Dec you know what you get with him, works hard off the ball and put in a shift, he’ll have more productive days in front of goal but he did the job SC asked him to do very well. Really nice play acting on the face as well after the handball!!

Overall, very pleased, two wins and two clean sheets, there is still room for improvement after tonight but given the long lay off I don’t think many can grumble.

We have a pretty decent record in this competition but not always carried that form into the league season, that’s what I’ll be hoping we do come home game against Inverness.

As for the Killie game, i do hope it’s off and we take the 3-0 win and qualify and the players get a little bit of rest for the big game at the weekend.

on the 2 keepers on the bench, Crawford says its down to injuries to both Fon Williams and Gill so want the extra cover, i still think teams should do it anyway.

I think it.s good that fans are keeping some perspective. We.ve done pretty well early on in this cup for the last few years and there have been threads talking about promotion after one or two games. Last season we beat St Mirren, put 6 past Albion Rovers and then lost to Edinburgh City.5 league games in and we were bottom and hadn.t won a game.I.d rather we went about it quietly, not get carried away and get on with business. The league is the acid test-that.s not taking away from what was undoubtedly a positive result.Let.s hope for more of the same. Certainly some promising signs imo.

If they should have had a penalty, we should have had a goal in the 2nd or 3rd minute. There's no way that didn't cross the line.

Away players came out of the east stand so assume something has been setup in there or outside it.
