So the game is on but Killie are still in self isolation.
They can field their under 21 team or forfeit?

the 6 players who tested positive will be out of isolation but are they fit/well enough to play? they still have to put out their under 18s to fill the other starting spots and bench.

Murray said after the game the squad was tested today, firstly i hope they all come back negative but secondly a decision on the game by Killie or the SPFL board should have been made before we had to pay for testing which might not be needed imo.

The whole squad was told last Friday to isolate for 2 weeks, so no chance it’s on unless they field a team of youngsters

Selfishly if we can get away with the three points and a 3-0 scoreline I’d be very happy.

We have a very important game against Inverness next weekend and if we can avoid a risk of injury then I’m all for it.

I get the integrity aspect but these are exceptional times, for integrity the seasons shouldn’t have finished early, Falkirk shouldn’t have been given the win against Killie, we wouldn’t be playing three quarters of a season, playing opposition more times away than at home and vice versa.

The season may well end up the exact same way as last, who knows. All i do know is this is going to be a bit of a messy season and any opportunity where we can gain an advantage, it would be very welcome.

Why should Falkirk not be given the 3 points ! Its the rules ,same for everyone ,suck it up and get on with it .
Football is about competing and as mentioned earlier i prefer to play the game rather than hope its cancelled and we are given the three points even though thos are the rules .

That is the rules Rigger, that’s why I wouldn’t be disappointed if rule bows in our favour.

We play the game on Tuesday is just another game in quick succession which risks injury, suspension and god forbid contracting COVID which could significantly impact the games ahead.

If Killie game didn’t go ahead then as sympathetic as I am to them, we get a 3-0 win, 3 points and qualify from the group without facing those risks in what is going to be a totally different season. I’d then snap it up with open arms, I’ll not be worrying about sporting integrity.

For now though game goes ahead and we prep as we would normally do.

Each to their own, but for me if we’re given an advantage at any point this season then happy days.

The isolation timeframes are stupid.

There was a debate on the Radio today around the Scottish players who had to isolate.

Stuart Armstrong Tested positive and only has to isolate for 10 days and can play for his club this weekend

Kieran Tierney has to isolate for 14 days and he tested negative meaning he will miss the games this weekend.

They also said that Kieran Tierney has subsequently had 3 further tests all negative.

It should be a blanket 14 days imo or if being tested regularly as long as the test is negative.

48 hours till Dunfermline Athletic are meant to play a crucial League Cup fixture and we still do not know if the Ayrshire club plan to fulfil the fixture.

Silence from Kilmarnock FC and nothing from the blazers at the SPFL..

This is pathetic.

Kilmarnock have 27 first team pool players, and reserves and youth players.

How is Stevie Crawford meant to plan for a game and arrange training and conditioning against this truly amateurish backdrop?

Kilmarnock are preparing for Tuesday.s League Cup tie at home to Dunfermline Athletic to go ahead as planned.

The Rugby Park side had to forfeit last week.s Group E opener against Falkirk following a coronavirus outbreak, with the entire first-team squad told to isolate.

The Scottish Premiership club anticipate having around six senior players available.

The rest of the squad will be chosen from their youth set-up.

decision later today, taken from the evening express.

Kilmarnock will decide later on Monday whether Tuesday’s Betfred Cup tie at home to Dunfermline Athletic will go ahead.

Killie’s first-team squad was advised to self-isolate by a problem assessment group led by NHS Ayrshire and Arran following six positive COVID-19 tests with their Premiership match against Motherwell earlier in the month consequently postponed.

The Rugby Park outfit had to forfeit last week’s Betfred Cup Group E opener against Falkirk after boss Alex Dyer refused to play a team of youth players and now there is uncertainty about the visit of the Pars.

He said: “At the moment I have five players and one goalkeeper, that’s what I’ve got senior-wise.

“They have trained a couple of days. They are all okay, as far as I know.

“Will see how they feel training wise and see if there is any big reaction and then we will decide whether we go ahead with the game tomorrow.

“It is not decided yet, the information will go out today.”

What is the status of testing for the young squad for Killie. Does this affect the seniors who are selected. I.e. would that remove them from their “bubble” if they are associated with younger squad. I assume they have not been routinely tested? I am confused by this.

I am guessing that the youth team will have been tested well enough in advance of this game so that they can mix with their 6 senior colleagues.

I think we also need to test before playing a premier team so will need to wait and see the outcome of those as well.

The lack of support from the league body is becoming a joke. I notice Killie approached Livi to ask for a postponement, why is it at the discretion of individual clubs to determine if the match goes ahead? That seems very unfair on Livingston to be put in that position. We are now waiting the night before the fixture to see if it will go ahead, as someone touched on we need to do testing as we are playing premier opposition, I imagine this would have been done on Friday or today so will we be reimbursed if the game is off? To many loose ends IMO.

That.s likely more to do with the fact they.ve no idea how to price it up and are terrified of getting fleeced.

If a full strength Pars side are going up against their u18s and they have us priced incorrectly, they could get stung.

Similarly, it they have us odds on and somehow Killie are able to cobble together an experienced team, they could lose a pile of cash too.

We.re on a bit of a hiding to nothing tonight.Obviously if we can take the 3 points it will be welcome but there.s already a few examples of depleted teams putting up good showings and getting a result when it wasn.t expected. The other factor is the astroturf-you don.t tend to get many high scoring games on there and it takes a while to get accustomed to playing on a la Edinburgh City last year. Hopeful of the win but certainly not counting my chickens.

If we can.t put a team out then we would forfeit. I noticed a couple of Israel players tested positive after playing against Scotland-I wondered why everyone on the pitch wasn.t required to isolate but the likes of Tierney who tested negative numerous times had to isolate because he was supposedly near someone who tested positive outside of the football field. The rules are mental.

Its not a cup game so probably not, it hasn't happened in a league game yet.

This is what I raised on another thread when I was mentioning about my preference that the game was off, if it’s gotten this close to confirm with any real certainty that the game is going ahead, should really be a sign that it should be forfeited.

I.m sure Killie asked Livingston to move their league game back a few days.Livi refused so Killie need to play. I think at the moment you have to play unless you have less than 13 players available? If you have less than 13 players I think the game can be re-arranged unless it can be proven that you have broken protocol. That.s certainly how I read it for the Premier League anyway.I could be wrong.

if it was going to be off it would be by now id say.

if they are willing to play tonight then they should never have asked Livi to postpone the game at the weekend even if it was for 1 day imo.

tonight, get the heads right, got to be professional and do the job required no matter their line up.

I think most teams do but it isn.t the same. Livi and Killie perform massively better at home every season.Livi only lost twice at home in the whole of last season yet they only won twice away. Killie only lost 4 at home and yet won only 3 away games. You may expect home form to be better but that.s a huge difference and it.s not as if the thousands of fans at those stadiums create an intimidating atmosphere :)

As you can probably tell I.m not a massive fan of astro in the pro game :)

ETA worth adding the pitch at EEP looked fantastic for the last game.Good to hear Michael Stewart recognising that and the surface we.ve had over the years.Well done the ground staff Think he described it as a .crime. when we put the astro down

6 first teamers and also Innes Cameron who was played first team football on loan for someone, cant remember who. so its 4 kids, 3 of them in the defence

Doyle, Dicker, Burke, McKenzie, Haunstrup, Kabamba are the 6.

At least our cohesion isn.t too bad. I.d like to see Turner get himself into position to shoot from 25 yards. O.Hara is trying but not really providing much of a target. I.m a wee bit concerned by our number 15 - Wilson? - seems a tad slow and passed the ba. to Killie a few times. Thomas is a good jinky player, something needs to click up front - or maybe Euan Murray can get his heid on a corner.

I think we.re doing OK for what is basically Killie.s first team except for 4? good youngsters.

Before anyone detracts, you can only play the team on the park.
To Killie's credit they've taken on the game under pretty range circumstances and some young guys are getting a game maybe a touch above their level.
We could get a confidence boost (plenty time yet though).
Take these games for what they are for both sides and enjoy football being played.
Better a good than a bad start.
Peace.

Fortunately was a “game of two halves”. Much more urgency and better tempo after the break. Their keeper can’t be too happy conceding a goal from that far out but it was a great strike by Fraser Murray. Two nice crosses and well placed headers for the other two goals. Great result.

First game I.ve seen this season (barring the East Fife friendly on the background). Basically a case of doing what we had to do - dull first half but certainly a deserved win in the end. The stream wasn.t great for me (I think it.s my connection rather than anything to do with the stream its self) so a bit difficult to say much about most players as it was often difficult to pick them out.

When the game is dull, I like to look at the shape of the team, but I don.t find that possible when not at the game. I love looking at space, how teams use it and how teams cover it when defending, so it makes quite a difference to me not being able to see the whole park. However, it.s better than nothing, and I.m appreciative of the efforts from those people at all clubs who make it possible.
