Defender Considine wins his first call-up at the age of 33 having played more than 500 games for the Dons - his only club - and having been a regular starter for his club this season.

"Considine is .Mr Steady.," said Clarke. "He.s had a great career at Aberdeen, a one-club man which doesn.t happen very often.

Slovakia are dire. We are playing not too badly but we are struggling up front. Mctominay is playing well again. Hamsik will be the only reason we lose this.

Slovakia are dire right enough , but that makes it even more embarrassing that we haven't managed an effort on target again .

We.ve certainly been threatening. Don.t think Dykes is the answer. Was good to hear the commentator calling for Nisbet...

I think Dykes is doing well enough. Needs a good player next to him though. Nisbett or Griffiths will do a job alongside him.

Putrid game of football although we looked a bit tighter at the back and its 3 points in the bag.

Am I the only one that thought we done well? We looked much better than we have done. That’s 7 unbeaten in a row now. We looked a bit more aggressive and some of our passing was decent. Looking like we finally have an actual defence. We just need some more creativity and a couple of strikers. Paterson is not the answer and I think shankland isn’t getting game time for a reason.

Improvement from Thursday.
We controlled the whole game and yes, the goal threat is still very weak, we are a team looking hard to beat and the players quite clearly bursting that extra gut to win a ball.
Makes all the difference.
I know it isn't pretty but we are getting the points on the board and developing a team spirit mentality.

Boring first half, but not awful by any means. Much improved second half performance and took our chance when it came.

Was great to see Considine get his debut. Thought he strolled it. Dykes will score goals. Ryan Fraser was very impressive in the second half and even thought McBurnie had some nice touches when he came on.

No need to be negative, unbeaten in 7 and 3 points in the bag!

Mon the pars!

Steve Clarke has probably forgotten more about football than the sum total of Scotland fans. knowledge. It.s always interesting to listen to real football men responding to the media.

Massive improvement from Thursday and it looks like the team are settling into this formation. McTominay looks a lot more comfortable at centre back than he did last month and the defence in general looked solid.

It looks like this will be the way we play in future. Not pretty to look at but a team that is capable of grinding out results. Wednesday is a big game also. Fingers crossed we can get another 3 points.

Chances tend to be at a premium in international football and games can often be dull. Craig Brown used to get criticised for the style of play when he was manager but as time passes all fans remember are the results. The likes of Iceland and Northern Ireland have been successful relatively speaking of late and it.s mostly a bi-product of keeping clean sheets.

Still think McTominay is better as a midfield enforcer/passer.He fills that position much better but he.s also better than any centre-half.s we have at the moment.

You were the only one to bite, BPP. ☺

Doug Considine is regularly trotted out by senior Pars fans as one of the poorest players ever to wear the black and white..... ☹

Ach he probably realised he just wasn't that good and got fed up with the stick he got every week.

Pity Billy Kirkwood didn't do the same..... 🙂

Sir Fergie is one of my alltime Pars heroes - but he shafted us in spades by selling
Considine Snr. to the club.

£20,000 if memory serves - money we could ill afford at the time.

I can think of plenty Pars. players who were worse than Doug Considine - or Billy Kirkwood. They may not have delivered what was expected of them but we had plenty inferior players when we were struggling in the lower echelons of Scottish football.

The Scottish FA has secured £5m of funding as part of the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme.

The money has been agreed through Santander Bank with a floating charge against "all the property or undertaking of the company".

Scotland.s governing body agreed to buy Hampden, the national stadium, last year from Queen.s Park.

But no international tie or major cup fixture has been able to be played there with fans attending in 2020.

The association faces losing £3m of revenue if fans do not return soon.

"The Scottish FA, like many other businesses affected by Covid-19, has successfully applied for a loan to help address the economic impact of the virus on the governing body via the government.s Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme," said an SFA spokesman.

Really big improvement last night especially in the second half. Closing out the game was very professional too.

I.m told you could get to Serbia and back for £64.

Yes, of course they weren't the worst ever, eck. You hit the nail on the head when you suggest it has more to do with the expectations fans have of these players, based on their reputation, their transfer fee and the status of the selling club.

Don't laugh, but I once overheard a Pars fan telling his pal that Istvan Kozma was one of the worst Pars players he'd ever seen! ☹

He was certainly special on his debut, but invisible in the league cup final against Hibs. Other than those two games I have little or no memory.

I take it you missed his superlative hat trick in the 5-1 win over St Mirren, desparado?
Kozma was far from consistent, but on his day, he was simply irresistible.

In terms of pure talent, he was up there with Alex Edwards.

Paul Hanlon of Hibs has now been added to the squad. The Czech coach and one unnamed player aren.t travelling after testing positive for Covid. Four players have been added to their squad.
