 Watch the game free

Don't worry, this isn't a way to get around paying for ParsTV!

Nicola Sturgeon calling for the "Old" Firm match to be shown free to stop fans who can't afford Sky congregating in pubs. This is a game you can get for £9.99 on NowTV (Cooncil Sky) or cheaper if you buy your voucher online. Less than a tenner...

Should all fans be calling for their clubs games to be shown on TV for free?

It's something I totally agree with.
With such a huge fan base, it is inevitable groups of people will gather in houses if they don't have access to Sky.
The government should, if required force their hand to make it free to air to stop houses being full and unregulated as pubs are.

These fans can't afford a tenner but can afford to drink in the pub for the afternoon or travel to the likes of Blackpool?

Should we expect all games expected to be popular to be free to air? Or is the suggestion simply that Rangers and Celtic fans are so unbelievably thick that they 1. Can't follow basic instructions 2. Are skint.

Some pubs here in Carlisle are saying that they will only be showing the Everton v Liverpool game at 12.30 on Saturday afternoon.

Apparently it's because there's been 1500 enquiries about bus loads heading to Blackpool. So can't afford a tenner but can afford a bus trip, hotel/b&b and a day in the pub? Why reward idiots? Surely a more sensible thing would be for the mayor of Blackpool to stand and fine each one of them as they get off the bus and then send it back up the road.

Even for that lot it takes a whole load of stupidity to think it is a good idea to sod off to Blackpool to get round the rules.

Clowns, the lot of them. It will be that lot that moan when the date for a return to attending football is put back partly due to their selfishness and ideas of grandeur.

Can’t think Sky would even consider allowing out free to view.

They’ve lost a big number of subscribers due to the economic situation and those who are still paying for it would want a refund.

I don.t know. They allowed plenty of English Premier League games to be shown on free to view channels at the end of last season.

Do they have TVs outside? No alcohol can be served indoors at anytime in Scotland at the moment.

The ongoing onslaught of football on telly has created this weird sense of entitlement to be able to see every minute of every game these days.

I miss the days of page 310 on Ceefax and waiting on the page cycling through to see your team.

I seem to remember going absolutely mental one Boxing day or New years day when we came back to draw 3-3 at Berwick. Ceefax scenes.....

The1500 booking requests were just for one pub, Jake - The Gallant Pioneer - a Rangers pub, allegedly. It has wisely decided to close for the day. I didn't know they had a "Rangers pub " in Blackpool. Presumably, they'll have a "Celtic pub", too? Or maybe each club has several?

Maybe they could just award the 3 points to whoever can claim the most pubs instead of playing the game?

Having worked with "weegies " for a number of years, they have an inbuilt attitude that any prohibitory sign or order doesn't apply to them. 🤔

Steady on there Lochgelly that seems like a very arbitrary and sweeping statement. This Fife/weegie doesn.t recognise many who would have such an attitude.

Most weegies are fine but there are also the awful ones who don't seem to understand that there are other accents in Scotland apart from that awful strong weegie one. You know the one "an' ah wuz like aht".

Will say they are 10x friendlier than Edinbuggers.

Really? So the Weegies from the Govan Loyal RFC supporters club will give you a friendlier welcome than the nice old ladies at the Morningside lawn bowling club would?

I suppose if Greater Glasgow has approximately 30 percent of the entire population of Scotland that there will be relatively large groups of each type of person and comparatively more of the anti social types, purely because there are more people. My very first introduction to life in the big city made me aware that my strong Fife accent would not be generally acceptable to my new classmates so I had to change it rather quickly. Not surprisingly "ye ken" didn.t resonate very well with the average Glasgow scrubber and had a rather yokel like or country bumpkin sound to it. Another expression that didn.t cut it was "dinnae" as in "dinnae dae that". If I was to give up the practice of rolling in the gutter battering the melt out of my classmates as they queued up to give me a doing after school, I would have to give up the very broad Cowdenbeath accent so I did. But even now, even though I have lived here since I was 8 people say that I don.t have a Glasgow accent.

I also was at the 4-4 game. Was Shaggy not sent off along with one of their players. I think his name was Davidson but I might be wrong.

There will be thousands of both teams fans on holiday all over UK just now. Media will do what they do and indicate people have travelled just to watch it, whereas in reality it’s because they are already there.

"I don.t know. They allowed plenty of English Premier League games to be shown on free to view channels at the end of last season."

None of the regular games they had already budgeted for were though, they were all extra games that the PL allowed them to show on top of the games they were due to show anyway. You.ll not have seen any first pick games free to view, it was all Burnley v West Ham and Everton v Newcastle rather than Liverpool v Man City or whatever.
